The hotel we stayed in was booked for dinner but, after reading reviews of this place, which was across the parking lot, looked perfect. Went over and took advantage of the happy hour prices. Ordered the rye bread with shrimp as a starter and then the "Old" burger and the fish of the day which was Arctic char. Servers were absolutely fabulous, great sense of humor, especially Ailene? from Latvia. Anyway, the meal was great and about USD50 less than anyplace else we have eaten since arriving in Iceland. Have to say, it was one our our favorite meals!

Great atmosphere
Watched soccer game together
Friendly staff, very nice waiter
But sad to say the food was not so good. The arctic fish was so old, smelled funny. I didn't eat it. :(

A very simple but good place to have a quick lunch of burgers. In fact, they don't offer sophisticated food, but burgers are pretty good.

A relaxed little bistro with great pub food. I thought the prices were very reasonable for Iceland, it wasn't cheap eats, but no where is in Iceland. It was really busy but we managed to get a table thankfully though many others were turned away after. So I recommend not trying to just drop in for a quick meal.
They had a good selection of beer on tap, and the burgers were great after a long day of hiking. Our youngest had a grilled ham and cheese which se loved. Our oldest daughter has Celiac, so finding gluten free options is always a stressful challenge when traveling. The staff was very understanding and knowledgeable and they were able to make a burger for my daughter with no bun and extra greens (the fryer was not dedicated GF so she couldn't have the fries). Even though they were busy they made the extra effort to make sure she had a good meal and it was very much appreciated.

Great restaurant!
Any parent traveling with their kids, know the sh**y kids menus: chicken nuggets, kids burgers or something equally bad. Not this place!
All menu items available in kid sizes for half the price.
I will always stop at this place traveling through Mývatn! As should you!

No pizza on the menu anymore and only 1 burger. We had soup of the day, which happened to be lobster soup, and fish of the day, cod Italian style. Both were excellent but of you are really hungry you may need a dessert.

We stopped there once and returned next day, and the day after. Ask for the fish of the day - for us it was delicious trout. And very tasteful burgers. Portions are huge, beer is good - no need to seek for better

We had dinner there last night after our whale watching boat tour and whale museum visit.
The setting is very nice with pictures of early years in harbor, activities, and fishing.
The problem I had was the menu regarding what was referred to as “Icelandic fish stew”. If I knew what it was, I would not have ordered it. We did ask the server before we ordered. She did not explain that it was not a stew, but rather dry, cooked potatoes in a frying pan with a little bit of cod flavor.
When I tried to talk to the supervisor and suggest that they should do some additional training of the servers and modify the explanation on the menu, the supervisor got very defensive and blamed me for not ask enough questions of the server, and suggested that I should’ve looked up the name on Google to understand what I was ordering. I was surprised by the defensive attitude and blaming the customer instead of listening to my concerns.

Good value for money. The food was good and it was not overpriced. We would recommend this place for a nice diner. We had the fish of the day and the salad with the apple pie for the desert

This was so good! We had the starter platter with the smoked lamb, trout and the icelandic cheeses, this was already very good and then I had the beef cheeks and my wife the fish and chips. So good,it was YUMMIE!!! The staff is superfriendly and quick, i never saw this!!
