Wonderful and friendly

We came back from a long trip and very hungry. Went to Kaffi Krús. Nice little resturant with friendly staff. And the atmosphere was fantastic. We were six together and had the lambshank, the chicken and the alfredo pasta and everyone was very happy with their meals and the price is affordable.

Great and delicious food! Worth the money!

We ate lunch at this place on our way from the Golden Circle to Reykjavik. The food was absolutely delicious. Food in Iceland is expensive and we know that however this please gave us delicious food which was well worth the money! We ordered the lamb shanks, their catch of the day (white fish) as well as their deep fried Brie burger and each one of them was absolutely delicious! The carrot soup that came with the fish was out of this world!! I would love to come here again

Excellent meal with the locals

This is a vibrant eatery with many people dropping in to eat or to buy takeaway pizzas and cakes. My wife and I were lucky to secure a free table. We had ‘fish of the day’ - catfish in a basil sauce served on a bed of mixed vegetables and potatoes, and fish and chips. Our meals came up quickly, and were very tasty but rather on the large side for our appetites. We shared a carrot cake for dessert - it was moist and light with an interesting frosting. We felt that the meal represented excellent value and it was easy to see why the venue is so popular. Service was very friendly, with our server spending time to chat with us even though every table was taken and the staff were being kept very busy.

Disappointed..

I used to go to kaffi krus almost every month and everything was excellent. I was recently there to order arctic char and I was surprised. The order came in more than 45 minutes (the restaurant was not full, 3 tables up and same down). It took so long for the order to came and the potatoes were cold and the broccoli was burnt, with a taste of burnt oil, but the fish was good. They probably have new staff, otherwise I can't explain. I was also surprised that they didn't ask if everything was ok when i went to pay...

First of all the service was overall quite rude and slow especially the waiter. The nachos was the only thing acceptable but the cheeseburger was overcooked and had the same quality as a gas station burger. My colleague had the Alfredo pasta and was quite disappointed by the pricing compared to the quality but the worst part was the waiter.

Big and tasty desserts, huge hot drinks and very frindly staff.

Kaffi Krus has splendid cakes at a reasonable price. I recommend sharing a piece with a friend as it might get a bit too sweet otherwise. Just mention that you will take one piece per two person and they will happily cut it half and serve the cake as it would always be meant like this. The atmosphere is also lovely and the interior design is great.

Very bad service

We put in our order for dinner and after waiting for more than half hour, we were told that the waitress had forgotten to send the order to the kitchen. The fact that we were sitting at our table without any service should have been noticed by the staff! Anyway, when the food did arrive, one out of two starters were again missed from the order and had to be re-ordered. The food was mediocre and the overall customer service left a bad taste in our mouth.

Popular place with good food.

Good food, friendly personnel, but crowded popular diner. My wife had the pizza margarita and I had the pasta (penne) Alfredo, which was hot and tasty. They warned us beforehand that is was busy and we might have to wait 40 minutes before the food could be served. The food was served 70 minutes later. They were sorry for the delay and gave us the drinks for free because of the long wait.

Good restaurant in Selfoss

Very cozy and buzzy little restaurant in Selfoss. This place is always busy, usually with a queue forming out front. The pizzas were delicious, albeit a little expensive. The soups are perfect on a cold day. We also had the avocado burger and the local burger, which were alright, but not as good as the pizza. The service was excellent and extremely friendly!

Great little restaurant in Selfoss

Lovely family evening spent here. Food was excellent, service was friendly, polite and helpful There was seven of us and all the food was served promptly. The portions are big so I would suggest deciding between a starter or a sweet

Cute restaurant with lots of great menu options!

Great service in a cute restaurant atmosphere where you feel like you are in someone’s home. The mushroom starter soup was creamy and flavorful especially since it was so cold. The fish & chips and grilled fish were big portions and very fresh. There's also a bakery with tasty looking pastries (that we didn't have room for). It's located in the middle of town and there's parking behind the building.

Very good and friendly place!

You can sit outside which is perfect in nice weather. The garden is also quite big so we didn’t have problem finding the table. We had a KK burger - which tasted exactly like MCDonands Big Mac to be honest, and an eyjafjallajökull pizza which is a bit spicy. Tasty but next time I would try other dishes. Get Víking beer.

Cafe with great service and delicious food

We chose Kaffe Kriss as many other restaurants were closed on Mondays. The waiter(owner?) was so nice and the service was great! My husband and I each had their salads and they were huge and delicious - chicken on one and smoked salmon on the other. Their desserts were yummy and disappearing fast from the case. I would recommend this casual place while in Selfoss.

My family and I ate here during our stopover in Selfoss going to Reykjavik. I ordered the fish of the day (salmon), my husband had the classic burger and my daughter had the kids nuggets and fries. Overall, the food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and our meals came in a timely manner. They provided kids menus with activities and colored pencils for our little one. The WCs were also clean. Overall a great experience.

Friendly staff in cosy cafe

Had dinner here while staying in area. They have eat in and takeaway options. We order the fried brie for a starter and were glad we only ordered one as the portion was huge, and served with a jam on the side. For mains we had the local burger with fries and fish and chips. Again, we had very generous portions and the food was really tasty, the burger having smoked bacon and mushrooms as some of the fillings. Fish was fresh and well battered. We were too full for desert, but they looked lovely. Food was very reasonably priced and staff were friendly
