Went out for dinner with friends, taking my toddler out too. The place was cosey and welcoming with a lovely fire going. They were child friendly, allowing my child to roam when he'd had enough of the high chair they provided. Very friendly atmosphere. Food was exceptional and really well priced too. We had steaks and burgers and didn't break... More

You would think a homemade burger with salad and chips for 15.95 would be something special for the price, no, what we got was over cooked burger in 2 buns that a child could have cooked, no toppings on the burger what a rip off, well as they say catch me once is ok but catch me twice I'm a... Had a family get together for 8 adults and four children for Sunday lunch . Nice clean surroundings , pleasant staff but whoever is cooking the food hasn't a clue. Very basic. Nothing special. I ordered chicken and bacon salad which was inedible. Not very hard to get right ?? Cheap wedges piled on top of poached chicken with bacon... More

Met a friend there last week for lunch and ordered the burger without relish and with cheese on it, when my burger came out, yup you've guessed it full of relish and no cheese! Call the waitress over and she had broken English and kept saying "your burger" so called the older lady over whom I ordered it off. She... More

My Husband and I recently visited the Island Gate Restaurant for dinner. We did not book but there was no problem as it was very quiet. It was years since we ate here and it was always busy then. We got a nice table and our drinks order was taken . we went for the early bird menu which was... More

Recently a group of us visited The Island Gate for an evening meal. The variety was excellent and fantastic value. All present were so pleased with the quality and presentation of the various starters and main dishes not to mention deserts, all cooked to perfection. At the end of the evening, it was a pleasure to have the Chef I... More

We've eaten here a few times recently and it's always great. Our last visit was on 7th of September, a birthday treat for our 18 year old daughter and her friends. The food is decent bar food, reasonably priced and generous portions. The service is efficient and the staff are great.

Absolutely shocking called in last night for food (5/7/16) at 20:50 with my accountant to get something to eat and was told in broken English that they was closed even though a large sign outside said food served till 10:30pm. Wouldn't mind there was still plenty of customers i really felt insulted needless to say i won't waste my time... More
