We found this place by chance; what a lucky find. Very friendly staff explained the extensive fish menu. We opted for the crab tower and the steamed mussels; excellent local produce cooked superbly well.

We went to Veldon's for dinner. The food had no taste, no seasoning and was very expensive, particularly, considering the quality we received. We ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and two captain's seafood platter, the portions were generous. However, the fish literally did not even have salt or pepper in the platter and the fish and chips were... More

Cycling Wild Atlantic Way and stopped to rest and refuel with Twelve Bens Cycling Club. Lovely pub, real fire, lashings of tea & coffee and wide range of very tasty sandwiches. John & staff very welcoming & friendly. Will be back.

We stopped here in between visiting the national park and the Kylemore abbey as it is located very conveniently. The service was very friendly. I would recommend the mussels which are delicious, fresh and cheap!

This is a great spot to visit after a walk in the Connemara national park. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. It's a cosy warm pub, the scampi were freshly breaded, crisp with a light tasty tartare sauce. We also had the salmon topped with crab, it was huge and cooked perfectly. Very impressive pub grub,... The best barfood ever. You should try their steaks and lambs! We could eat our foods inside with our Dog. The place is dog friendly.

Stopped here for lunch, on our drive through connemara. Had the scallops, cooked to perfection. My friends had the chowder, fish & chips, which I tried, were just right. Good choice, worth the stop.
