If you are looking for an upscale place to eat this should be on your list. Food & presentation were very good. But not cheap. Four people with wine, drinks & tip just shy of $400.

Quaint lobby for first welcome of guests in the elegant Carnall Hall at the U of A, this restaurant offers a business atmosphere with quiet elegance. One can hear those at the table well while tables are spaced adequately for not overhearing those at nearby tables. This is my go-to place for interviews.

Made early reservations 6:00pm to get to play at Walton Arts Center which started at 8:00. Only 5 Tables with one large group. Service was really slow. Got out of restaurant at 7:45. One waiter for those tables. Shouldn't have been a big deal. Food was good. Maybe a little over priced for what we had. That being said probably... More

Toured U.A. campus, got hungry and lunched here with a friend and my wife. Lots of old photos on hallways, some 60-80 years old. Looked for some old acquaintances but no joy. Lunch was delicious, the place has a great local reputation and service was great; friendly waitstaff; food served hot and plates, silverware, etc of good quality.

It has been about 5 years since I ate at Ella's, and so I was expecting a similar experience--nice ambiance, good food, great service. I was sadly disappointed. The ambience was ok. The lights were pretty bright though. The service was fine. The food was not good at all. I ordered the pasta primavera that's description said was made with... More

We have gone here for brunch many many times and love it every single time. It is classy and just a great place to go after church to relax and have great food.

When my traveling companion suggested dining at Carnal Hall, I expected something much more...mediocre...what a delight this was!! Service was very good, the food was beautifully prepared and presented and the wine was served in Riedel glasses. I had the catfish, which was delicious!

My wife and I visited Ella's with another couple after attending church with them this past February. I had the eggs Benedict and my wife had the crab cakes. They were both delicious. Our friend ordered the blueberry pancakes, but they were not very good. Come to find out , the cook had mistaken the capers for the blueberries, but... More

Dining at Ella's where both the food and service were beyond excellent. It was prom night so it was very busy but the waiters had no problem with that... they acted as if we were the only customers in the dining room Wait for our order was also short. Dining room was tastefully decorated and clean. The grounds were beautiful.... More

Perhaps we should have not visited on a weekday evening in the Summer. After entering the quaint and historically decorated dining room we noted that there was only one other party dining that evening. Our server quickly told us that they were out of 3-4 different items on the menu "because of the low business in the Summer". So we... More
