Birthday meal with girlfriends

Lunch with the girls for my birthday and we weren’t disappointed. Food is freshly cooked , Anna & Kim are so accommodating with any request for food choices, We had chicken breast with garlic ( no garlic for some) bacon & cheese sauce chips & salad and 2of us had veg. It was beautifully cooked , very tasty! Desserts are gorgeous and to top it all you can have half portions on all meals. Great value, good company great hosts! Keep it up girls Les would be proud of you!!

another fabulous meal

multiple visits to this terrific restaurant, another trip on sunday & this time chose the pie instead of the roast, never had it before (very difficult NOT to choose the roasts lol), but weren't disappointed in the least! Always very accommodating, friendly, engaging & polite....we now don't go anywhere else when we're looking to eat out, because there's nowhere else can touch them for good, fresh, tasty grub laced with incredible value for money. If you're seeking value & excellent food, be sure & pop into Grants!!

Warm welcome, excellent food and outstanding service

Visited twice during our weeks holiday. The best food that we ate during that time. The quality of the roast dinners is not exaggerated, and nothing is too much trouble. The portion sizes eventually defeated us, and I'm a North country trencherman! On that note, the Yorkshire puddings were exemplary. Both times we were there, we heard other tables booking their next two and three visits. The sort of place where families and friends come to mark different days of the week as well as special events. If in Lynn, a place not to be missed. Currently doing the 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme

2 perfect birthday meals out. both times staff very attentive and caring. Going above and beyond to stick to Latest regulations. Kim was so friendly and her sister in the kitchen did an absolute smashing job with the food always left so stuffed.

Wonderful traditional cooking

Our first visit to Grants, we found the greeting and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Good variety of traditional English dishes and desserts. We enjoyed our starters, and could not believe how much fresh vegetables arrived with our mains. My husband had chosen a pie which covered his plate; I had the salmon, which was a large piece too. We enjoyed every mouthful and only just managed to eat it all. I just had to try their Banoffee pie which was delicious, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the Cheese which had a lovely selection of cheeses and crispy biscuits. We highly recommend Grants and will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Had a beautiful Sunday roast

Had a beautiful Sunday roast with the hubby and son. Fresh, hot, lovely portions,great “Grants” taste and the best roast potatoes going! Both ladies we haven’t seen for a few years remembered our family and was a lovely touch. Can’t wait to come back again for my cheesy potatoes 😂 Fantastic home cooked ,quality food , service and very covid safe also; love the new decor too; superb ladies, well done.

Very disappointing

Don’t advertise ‘roast potatoes’ on your menu, when they are clearly deep fried ! The highlight of a roast dinner for me are the ‘roasties’ - these were old ( probably boiled or cooked the night before, then chucked in the fryer) - not acceptable. The pork was barely even solid…. I think we were given yesterday’s dinners reheated. Shall not be returning !!!

Loved it. The meal a sunday roast was perfect, service impeccable,atmosphere is always lovely, calm and so friendly. The owners are so lovely too. I would eat there anytime and love going there xxx

Honest home cooked food

Home cooked filling food. Big portions. The restaurant is not in the main part of Kings Lynn, very close to Lidl so you wouldn’t probably stumble across it but it seems very popular. The staff are very accommodating and happy to change parts of the meal without a problem which shows that everything is freshly cooked. Very reasonable prices. The decor and furniture are quite old fashioned but this shouldn’t deter you from trying the food.

Good homestyle cooking with friendly service.

Went for a Sunday evening dinner with the wife. we have been 2 or 3 times previously over the years and it has always been good. This time was no exception. I had the mixed roast (pork and beef) - tasty and very tender with crispy roast potatoes, a good portion of fresh vegetables and a decent cauliflower cheese, with extra gravy on the side. All very good. My wife had the pork belly BBQ Melt special with hand cut chips which was also very tasty. Chips with a crispy, glassy exterior and fluffy middle. All very good. Desserts were a lemon bakewell tart for me, and a white chocolate cup with raspberries for my wife. Both were very good - the bakewell sponge was very light and with a tangy lemon curd layer and nice crispy pastry. Service was very friendly and efficient throughout. Only lost a point as my alcohol-free cider wasn't chilled or served with ice. Otherwise really good and we'll definitely be back and would recommend. This is a great homestyle cooking restaurant - if you want fancy-pants stuff you'll need to go elsewhere but for good wholesome plates of food, decent portion sizes and good value then you need look no further than Grants.

What a great place!

A charming restaurant with very friendly staff. It serves - among other goodies - great roast meals with loads of tender meat, an array of freshly cooked vegetables, gravy and Yorkshires. All piping hot. Lovely puddings, including cheesecake. Tucked away in the appropriately named Norfolk Street, this is a real gem of a place.

What a great find!

Wow! My husband and I have just returned from a really lovely meal at Grants. The fare was everything home made food should be - beautifully cooked, wonderful flavour, well presented, and the portions were very generous! The hostesses were warm and friendly and extremely helpful and welcoming. If you can only eat in one place at Kings Lynn, make this the place!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our host B & B in Kings Lynn. Situated in slightly off centre street, the restaurant does not look exiting from the street. Do not be fooled. From the start the staff were very good and the food was excellent. A wide ranging menu with a slant toward traditional British fayre. Our roast beef was beautifully cooked together with a wide variety of vegetables and quantities of everything large. Deserts were similarly good. All at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed the meal so much we returned the next evening. (Suggest you book as it is understandably popular).

Amazing family lunch

We had our annual family Christmas lunch at Grants 18 of us absolutely amazing couldn’t fault it in any way. I had tomato soup with cheesy croutons beautiful flavour, followed by roast beef perfectly cooked, bowls of veg sprouts, green beans carrots and cauliflower cheese all cooked to perfection excellent portion of beef. Desert I had apple crumble and custard. All in all a lovely lunch served by extremely pleasant and helpful people. Well done Grants thank you for a great experience that’s hard to find these days.

really good food, good company and service as always. Brought a different group of WI ladies/friends in this time and the feedback from those that hadn't been in before was great. loved the fact that you could have smaller portions if you liked and it was piping hot and reasonably priced. the only thing we forgot was to take pictures.
