Yes, this was a really good Sunday lunch at a cosy, well-run pub. Roast lamb was well cooked and delicious, with plenty of vegetables. This is a reassuringly 'not posh' pub, but well set out in traditional style. Friendly young staff, and to be asked...More

Chose this pub from trip advisor reviews. Went on a grim wet day and walked in to see log burners roaring away ! This is traditional pub in a 60s70s way,bit tired and dated but warm and friendly. Good beers on tap, very friendly staff....More

Great atmosphere in an old world pub. Super food, and good beer at a reasonable price served efficiently by a pleasant member of staff in a warm room on a cold evening. Don't expect 'designer' but do expect authenticity.

Always happy to visit The Bowling Green for Sunday roast. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the roast dinners are very good with generous portion sizes. It's nice to find a traditional, no nonsense pub amongst all the "Farrow and Ball" places in Wells....More

This is a lovely pub in an area where it is becoming increasingly difficult to find honest food. We checked before we went as OAP specials etc can make it too crowded. On this cold winters day there were fires at each end of the...More

Yes, we booked in advance [day before] and told them we had a dog so we were more in pub area than restaurant. No problem.
