Four fishermen returned to The Union Inn after 5 years absence. Why, because the food was good before, as was the beer. On this occasion there were a lot of people in the inn, some regulars, some visitors and some who return every year. There was also a darts match on, so it was very busy. The beers were well... We had a very enjoyable evening here. All the staff were friendly and the atmosphere very relaxing.Traditional and well priced food, and a good selection of beer. We happily enjoyed a few hours playing cards that we bought with us over a few pints at the end of the meal!

We had enjoyed the Union Inn years ago, so when staying nearby we popped in for dinner. The pub offers a range of well kept ales and a very good still cider. The food offering is good and it's all well prepared and brought out by freindly helpful staff. I recommend you ask for your chips well done - I... More

We had a family celebration for a table of eight at short notice and were welcomed by the staff. A good choice on the menu meant everyone found something to their liking. Prices were very reasonable, the food well cooked and enthusiastic staff. Beer was well kept on the night and a choice of three ales.

A very nice baguette with good bread and filling (proper ham) at a very reasonable price. Good beer (locally made) also at a very pleasing price. Nice traditional pub feel about the place. Would visit again.

I have called in here for a drink quite a few times in recent months when out walking in the area, the service is always friendly. On my recent visit I had time for lunch, and chose the cottage pie (which was gluten free). The individual cottage pie was very tasty and served with a selection of vegetables. Real cider... More

Sure this pub is great for the odd punter or group of friends who want to watch footy on the big screen but I is not a family friendly establishment. Try the Horse down the road.

We have visited this lovely pub a few times as we feel it's well worth a 45 minute drive from home. Always eaten in the bar during week days off! Excellent food. I booked a table for a family carvery yesterday and I must say it was first class. Generous portions, really tasty and excellent value. Desserts were plentiful and... More

Called into this traditional pub for Sunday lunch after visiting nearby Castle Drogo. We thoroughly enjoyed the good value Sunday carvery which is served in the barn restaurant at the back of the building. Wished we lived nearer so we could visit more frequently.

Called in at lunchtime with friends while in Mortonhampstead. A lovely period pub, lots of "locals" in - (always a good sign). The menu provided plenty of choice at good prices, and the meal we chose was first class, nicely presented by friendly staff. All this, and a bar serving local beers as well. This is one place we will... More
