Very limited early bird menu that didn't excite (veg broth or pate starters) limited main menu that was less than the one online disappointingly. Desserts were not appropriate for a cold late autumn evening (ice cream or white chocolate pannacotta), would have loved a crumble and custard. Lovely sausage and mash with crumbled black pudding adding to the gravy with... More

Ate here for lunch every day during our stay. Fantastic food, great selection of ales and offering value for money. Great dog friendly pub. Staff really friendly and accommodating. Well worth a visit!

Had a fabulous weekend at the Red Lion in Alnmouth. We stayed in the Luxury suite and it didn't disappoint. Newly refurbished, it way stunningly decorated with a huge comfy bed, a fabulous bath and they even supplied fluffy bath robes, tea and coffee and a box of delicious local fudge. The little touches were much appreciated. Saturday night we... More

Excellent Sunday lunch with meats and steak and ale pie. Beer was good too and good choice. Lovely atmosphere with mix of families, couples and dog friendly. Would recommend.

.....£22.50 for a bottle of Prosecco is a liberty! Expect to pay that at posh hotel for Christmas function albeit grudgingly but in a small country pub, it's a total Mackey take!

Visited here frequently whilst staying in Alnmouth. It's a warm welcoming pub with good beer, good food and a great atmosphere. Moreover it's dog friendly. If you're looking for a good hostelry this is the place to be especially next to the roaring fire on a winters night.

After ordering food, took a lovely seat next to the fire, only to be asked to move next to the door so a larger family could sit next to the fire! Disappointing as we were on our honeymoon'

After a walk on the fantastic beach and before a local ghost hunt event we ate our evening meal at the Red Lion - this pub had been highly recommended to us by numerous people.
