My wife and I dropped in for a refreshing pint on a visit to Alnmouth and really glad we did, the welcome was warm the pub rustic clean and friendly, although we didn’t eat the menu was extensive. Would definitely return anytime!

Three of us enjoyed a light bar lunch here on a cold February day. The food was reasonably priced and promptly served. For us the main bonus was that dogs are allowed in the bar area, and several people including us were taking advantage of...More

Had pulled pork baguettes with chunky chips which were very pleasant. Typical pub food. Small pub tables busy on a winter's day. Parking available on street. Toilets outside.

Often visit on a Sunday for a trio of meats dinner which is lovely followed by the chocolate brownie. You can bring a dog also into the bar area while eating.

Mid week in January, yet there was an atmosphere and we had an enjoyable evening. This is a proper pub with no fruit machines or obtrusive music, but offering decent home cooked food, and a good choice of wines and beers. Dog friendly!

We visited this pub by stumbling on it . We were after a cosy place to catch up and that’s exactly what we did there’s a lovely area right at the back down steps . A real gem

We liked The Red Lion. With its quirky set up of rooms it feels as if it might have been there for centuries. The food and service were very good.
