On our next trip to Gairloch the Mountain Coffee Company is high on my list for a longer visit. I popped in for a carry out coffee and couldn't leave without taking one of their amazing scones. It was a glorious day and we were...More

Really sad to say that this little coffee shop has gone downhill. We have visited many times and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere but our last visit (last week) was not a pleasant experience at all. Staff seemed disorganised and not very welcoming or happy. Place...More

Admittedly we come from a place where there is a very strong coffee culture, which is not the case around Scotland. We saw the Mountain Coffee company as a possible haven for coffee lovers. How disappointing. The barista either didn't know or didn't care how...More

This has the makings of a great coffee shop, due to the location. The view is stunning. The coffee was abysmal. If you order a latte, you don't expect it to be still too hot to drink after 15 minutes...a sure sign if nothing else...More

They might have been having an off day but the coffee tasted burnt. Not exactly a very friendly welcome either.

I am a very regular customer of this place when we are in Gairloch - I love going early in the morning for coffee and scone. The coffee is excellent and the home baked scones absolutely delicious. There are various varieties and I especially like...More

A little gem of a find and have been going back to this place for many years. I always have a coffee, cake and then browse through the books on offer - a very eclectic range of books considering this little place is really off...More

Nice place to have a pitstop. Had a latte and a Rocky Road and a cup of tea and a carrot cake. Small, busy cafe with some seating. Nice bookshop attached!

A lovely cafe that really cares about its coffee and food. We ate there on two occasions and everything was fresh, delicious and served in a friendly manner. The Millionaires Shortbread is unbelievable - a thick layer of chocolate over a generous layer of caramel...More

This is a quirky little cafe in Gairloch and very much worth a visit. The coffee is excellent, the cakes delicious and plentiful and the staff are extremely helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxing, with comfy chairs and benches as well as tables and chairs...More

This cafe is recommended by Lonely Planet and could be fantastic. The view is good, The food looked good and some tasted good. I ma prompted ot review becase the service was very bad. The women in charge who I believe is the owner was one fo the grumpier people we met on a 5month tour of Europe. She was loudly critical of and to the young man working there, she was unwelcoming and ignored much of what we said to her. The coffee was ok but made with reluctance and an offhand attitude. We felt as if we were intruding in her space and a real nuisance -- at 11 am !!. We had driven out of the way to get to a place which we felt would be special place for a coffee. It was but in all the wrong ways. We are New Zealanders who do not normally complain but this place was worth complaining about.
