Service, food, atmosphere and value for money. This roadside restaurant is NOT about fast food for the weary traveller but is a destination in itself - as well as refreshing the weary A75 driver. The sweets and cakes deserve very special mention

Thank you for your review. We have held the price of our inclusive two course high tea for the last three years.Problem was it had us trappedd into what wr could offer! NOW it includes Scampi, prawns, chicken and a better wider range of desserts.

Overlooking the busy A75 trunk road this cosy stop of is a nice departure from the maddening bustle and significant pricing issues of our national motorway service areas. Enter the very friendly slightly eccentric Bill Nigh doppelganger restaurant manager! Inside, yes, it’s an attractively renewed...More

Very noisy with wooden flooring, can't hear yourself talking, the A75 is very busy and takes a while to get out on to the main road. Food is kept in a counter which is not separated from starters, meats and sweets, won't be going back.

Our new modern display counter is fully accepted by our EHO. The beautiful gleaming Maple floor is original and much admired. The A75 is some 60/70 feet away through stone walls and modern double glazing. First complaint of being noisy in over 10 years...but.

We rang up with only half an hour to their closing time, as we'd been looking around Castle Douglas for food places at 5:30pm and found only takeaways. Thankfully they offered to provide us with food if we arrived before 6pm. We did have 6...More

Preceded by a 3 hour drive this eatery was an oasis in a desert of places to eat so pulled in. A converted school house it seems to specialise in delicious home made fare. The soup was delicious and the mains well presented and prepared....More
