I've been here many times & it never disappoints. Great menu, tasty food & good sized portions for a reasonable price - what is not to like? I like the decor - loads on the wall to amuse yourself.

This is my local pub and can recommend all the food and a friendly atmosphere for a pleasant drink especially on a sunny day. Staff are great too

Enjoyed lovely lunch at The Old Clubhouse last week with my husband. At the sight of original Clubhouse prefect to round of visit to Gullane Golf Club. Enjoyed Crab Panini, my Husband had BLT Panini served with choice of chips or homemade soup, we had soup which I would recommend.

Just eaten at The Old Clubhouse. The haddock was so fresh and the poussin excellent. (Not too sure about the chilli infused pineapple.). Very friendly service and a very nice Argentinian Chardonnay for £21. We will be visiting again. Thanks guys.

I don't know why I wasn't expecting a great meal when we starting searching in Gullane at 2.30 last Sunday, but I'm glad to report that I had the opposite. A great main course (lamb roast all all the trimmings) cooked to perfection and an apple and raisin crumble that was excellent. 2 mains, 1 (large) desert to share and... More

Friendly staff etc. Thank you. Menu at lunchtime disjointed. Much poorer than normal/0ld menu. Older relatives found it difficult to choose. 2 meals were fine, 2 fish and chips terrible. Frozen oven chips/peas, the fish (uniform and mushy) must be frozen too. They were, for haddock, tasteless, thin, wet and mushy. Batter oily and nasty. Used to be good but... More

Dear Rachel B I am sorely disappointed by your review on this site, however I must respond to your wholly unfair comments. We buy our fish from a long standing and very reputable local fish merchant, who only deals in fresh fish. If he thought that our customers believed it to be frozen, he would be horrified. We will admit... More

We used to be regular visitors here and decided to visit again today. Big mistake. It was extremely busy and the staff were being rushed off their feet but not sure that excused the rudeness of one waitress. Very frosty. On reflection we should have turned round and walked out ......The menu is extremely limited and my elderly father struggled... More

Dear Val S I am sorry to hear of your recent experience at the Old Clubhouse. I assume from your review that you visited on Sunday? We have to run a restricted menu on Sundays as we can be extremely busy, and we have found it cuts down on customer waiting times. I cannot believe that your waitress would have... More

We had a great evening and good food at the Old Clubhouse. The staff were friendly and helpful and attentive throughout the evening and made us feel welcome. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Old Clubhouse and in returning in the future.

The staff at The Old Clubhouse gave our family a really friendly welcome. The environment is warm and inviting with the club's history on the walls. The food is great-something for all! The cullen skink was the best I've had around these parts. Well done all.

Description
The Old Clubhouse is situated in central Gullane, overlooking the locally famed links course. Built in 1890, this attractive half-timbered venue was originally intended to be a meeting place for Gullanes golfers, and though the club soon outgrew it, The Old Clubhouse remains popular with those fresh off the greens and maintains the exclusive ambience of a members club, with its reputation for fine food and warm welcome spreading far beyond the town itself. Unsurprisingly, a strong golfing theme is seen throughout the bar, with plenty of old photographs of the course and the club as well as quirky memorabilia dotted around the space, cosy club chairs and deep banquettes providing comfortable seating, encouraging you to stay and relax beyond your meal. Drawing on local produce, The Old Clubhouses menu is eclectic and inspiring, particularly known for its steaks and fish, the central offerings of the mainly pub-food-with-a-twist collection of dishes. The wine list is as well considered as the food offerings, and The Old Clubhouse has recently become known for homemade ice creams and sorbets, the ideal treat after a hard morning of stick and ball.
