A must go - Food Fabulous we opted for the four courses including the superb scallop soup. However the additional amuse bouches starting with a fabulous warm curried soup in a glass and ending with petit fours with a white chocolate and passion fruit dip just added to a superb meal. For food of this quality the price of the... More

Visited with "foody" friends from London, and we had a really great meal. Went for 4 course option including the Thai Scallop soup - amazing. Monkfish with mussels also beautiful. Mango mousse really stunning. Very relaxed. Highly recommended and outstanding value for money. Foody friends truly impressed by this lovely East Lothian gem.

Fabulous meal here in January. We opted for 3 courses although this was interspersed with delicious amuse-bouches. Wine is reasonably priced and service subtle and excellent. It's not a rushed experience so be patient but it's well worth a visit.

The food and the service at this restaurant were outstanding. Keith one of the owners was front of house and made the whole experience unforgettable

Not cheap (£127 for a meal for two, with a bottle of wine), but a lovely intimate restaurant with excellent food and helpful unobtrusive staff. How nice not to have loud music in the background too. Check the menu in advance, as there is not a huge choice of dishes - but the ones we had were faultless. Recommended for... More

Had a lovely experience out with friends at La Potiniere. The food was faultless and service was unobtrusive and very professional. My only comments would be thus: I felt the lighting was too harsh for dinner and could have been softer with candles on the tables. It would have afforded a more intimate atmosphere. Also perhaps soft background music would... More

Haven't been here in a while. Had lunch with four friends and everything was faultless - linen, decor, service, food, drink. Understated perfection. One of East Lothian's gastronomic gems that delivers consistently at a fair price.

I looked at the menu online and was a bit concern d about having only two choices for each course. I'm not an adventurous eater and thought I might struggle. But, I was wrong. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and when I said I would just miss out the intermediate course they immediately gave me a choice of... More

Our experience of lunch here did not match the experience of the other positive reviews. We found the food to be mediocre (at best) and the service unfriendly and unacceptably slow. No explanation was given for our LONG wait. A great disappointment. Will not return or recommend.

Phoned in the morning - sat down in the evening - what luck. This is such a nice place with beautifully cooked food. Small, intimate but not crowded with great care given to quality and serving of the best East Lothian has to offer - and further afield no doubt. We've been for Hogmanay - this time we just went...
