A group of 4 great friends anticipated a lovely evening at James. We were all quite disappointed! A very so so Caesar salad, the artichoke soup really truffle heavy and flavorless overall! The lamb chops were actually well prepared, spinach side was cold and fingerling potatoes were boring! Fettuccine with shrimp was served coldish and was very ordinary! The shrimp... More

I was so mad at myself so taking this long to visit this restaurant! I have been in this area for at least 15+ years and always thought about going to eat there but heard rumors about this place being way expensive and overrated. By no way this restaurant was overrated nor over expensive. I thought the pricing of their... More

We've eaten here before and are always anxious to return. I love decor, but love the food even more. They have a varied menu that doesn't try to offer too much. What they offer is delicious. Wine list is varied and well priced. Can't wait to get back there. Best place to stay and eat in the area.

My husband and I had a date night here. The atmosphere is nice and romantic. Our waitress was very friendly. Our dinner, drinks, and desserts were delicious. It was very expensive. If you want an upscale dining experience in the area, this is a very good choice.

I went there tonight by myself and because I don't like sitting at a table alone I asked if they had a bar where I could eat. Their bar was not really a bar but a view of the open kitchen where the chefs were doing their magic. As a solo diner it was fun to watch them create the... More

Decided to try several different beverages and foods at the very eclectic Menued establishment. Have wanted to try this cool place for years but always thought it was super expensive. It has not cheap but no second mortgage needed, lol. Beverages: started with a Bay Breeze during happy hour ($5). Vodka, pineapple juice and cranberry juice. Good but overly sweet... More

Been here several times. Probably best restaurant in NWA. Menu is limited but what they serve is wonderful. Service was greatcand staff is ready to accommodate any of your wishes. Does not have a gluten free menu but they went out of their way to accommodate our request.

The food was truly great here, and our server, Charlie, did a great job with her friendly, conversational manner. Definitely will be back.

We had not been in a while, and the place wasn't full (probably because it is the dead of summer). However, the menu was loaded with a variety of great items. The lump crab appetizer was good. The sea bass was terrific, and the rack of lamb was out of this world good. Our server did a great job, and... More

We first attended a James Beard award dinner 23 years ago at James at the Mill. An old pre- civil war grain mill, in Johson Arkansas, near Fayettville, renovated by the chef-owners father in law into a hotel, restaurant. The restaurant has a tree growing through the floor, and a beautiful interior. The food is a work of art, the... More
