It was different from a salad in Europe but nice. The owner is a really nice guy who has a heart for his café and enthousiastic... More

If you love travel native style and don't have too much expectations this is the place to go. Rantepao have so much to offer and a week is not nearly enough to stay, consider a two months journey to get to know the locals and find out about the magic of this small place. It is totally amazing in many ways... This for sure one of the places in Rantepao with a wider choice of Food and drinks. Soto ayam was okay, not too much chicken in it. Fries were okay as well. And they have beer and radler. Best thing is however the atmosphere

We had dinner at the Cafe Aras one week after it opened in its new location. (Same road, but down and across the street.) As we usually do in Indonesian restaurants, upon receiving our menus we asked the servers which menu items were not available. She informed us that no fish was available. And also there were no ferns (pakis)... More

I guess locals cannot afford to visit this place - it is mainly for tourists, prices are higher, they offer local delicacies and a cool beer, some of the special dishes (buffalo) have to be preordered cause it takes a lot of time to prepare.

The Food is good and friendly staff, but not much space,so in some seasons you may need to book in advance.
