Finally! Edible sushi on the North Coast! Not just edible: wicked good! We were starving when we got there and pounced on the bitsy oysters with peppers & tobiko. We ordered one of the 28-pc grandes and some tempura, a small salmon sashimi. And the green papaya salad (more Thai than Japanese, so with a leeeetle beeet spicier kick than... More

We visited Yamazato on our last night in Cabarate ! We arrived at 6:30 and had our choice of seats indoor or outdoor . The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone ....sushi and more choices from the Asian cuisine. My husband had the chicken teriyaki and I chose the seafood pad Thai . The place is located in a plaza. Not a great decor or location but the food was very good. I found the portion sizes adequate. I requested something that was not on the menu, and they were happy to prepare it for me. Service was excellent. After our first visit we liked it so much that we use their delivery... More

During our stay in Cabarete we wanted something different from the traditional beachside seafood offerings and found this cool little sushi bar away from the hustle of the main district. Quiet, quaint little sushi joint just west of the main restaurant area with delicious food. We tried several different appetizer and entree options and each was wonderful and fresh. The... More

I can only imagine the trouble it takes to get this food into Cabarete, and so the price is justified. I will usually spend 50-60 bucks when on a date, getting 3 rolls and 2 glasses of wine for each of us. Wish I could go more often! Personally find it most welcoming at night, great outdoor seating.

As an avid sushi eater I was impressed. Even ordered rolls and had them the next day for breakfast! Fish is very fresh and the staff are very friendly. The staff members all said goodbye to us.

One of my favourite restaurants in the Dominican Republic. They have an amazing Pad Thai and I recommend ordering the Volcano sushi roll. Always fast, friendly service and fresh sushi. Two thumbs up!!

Description
Tucked away in Plaza Ocean Dream, Yamazato enjoys a reputation for serving the finest Asian cuisine on the north coast. Those in the know, say it is "the spot" for Sushi in the D.R.!! Our handy location with a beautiful outdoor patio and fountain as well as the ample parking, makes it one of the better off beach locations in Cabarete. Enjoy the exceptional talent of chef LAOSAENG CHAIYAWAT (Yong) who has more than 15 years experience in Bangkok, Thailand and Haifa, Israel. Immerse yourself in the authentic cuisine of Asia. From classic Japanese sushi dishes to delicious Thai stir fries, everything is sublime and one visit is simply not enough. This fall our LUNCH SPECIALS changes with new offerings of classic Japanese dishes including Yaki Soba and Kai Su Don.
It is the philosophy of Yamazato, to blend various Asian cuisines and constantly surprise! Another element that distinguishes Yamazato is the use of only the freshest of ingredients, many picked the same day from our organic garden.
Our staff is an extraordinarily friendly bunch, as welcoming and helpful to first time visitors as they are to regulars. Eating out is one of life's greatest joys. At Yamazato it's about the whole experience, the setting, the service and most importantly, what's served up before you. Yamazato never ceases to surprise and amaze. With so many interesting dishes on the menu, it's hard to narrow down your choices but help is on hand. The super friendly waiters and Sushi Bar chef's are more than willing to share their suggestions. Yamazato is not only about the mouth watering food, the delightful courtyard with its lovely fountain is a beautiful setting for dining al fresco during the cooler months and when the heat proves too much you can take refuge in the air conditioned and authentic Japanese ambiance inside.
For a great lunch, try our delectable "bento boxes", in each compartment you'll find a different treat. It's an exceptional value for your money. If you don't want to get into your car and drive to Cabarete, Yamazato will bring its culinary delights right to your home with free delivery in the Cabarete area. What better way to spend a beautiful Caribbean evening, dining on your terrace and enjoying Yamazato's wonderful Asian cuisine.
