My wife is a baker so of course we had to go here. Easily the best kuchen on Chiloe. The ingredients come from the property (fresh eggs and apples) which added to the allure. We had 3 pieces of pastry and all were spectacular. In Castro, we were told we could only get there by boat but you can get... More

My daughter and travelling in Chile, and we're looking for a place to stay. We separated for a while, and purely by coincidence I saw a note in a window for Marion's Cafe that also offered lodging. I rang the number, Marion's sweet voice answered, and the next night was booked. When I met up with my daughter again she... More

i drove with Chilote friends to the Cafe in Rilan and we had such a lovely afternoon eating that wacky meal that is sooo Chileno... onces! The drive in from Castro was spectacular and once there, we so enjoyed the hospitality from Marion and her family! The place is so charming... lovely flowers everywhere and the alpacas had just been... More

We arrived here expecting something much better, cleaner and a wider menu. They had a wide option of cakes and kuchens, but for lunch they only had 3 different options, with not much flexibility. Must say that everything tasted good, just good, and desserts were fine, but only fine. The small dinning room not only had a cat wandering around,... More

Not only you can have a full breakfast with all-you-can-drink filter coffee here, but it's open from 8 AM onwards too! I'm a local, and believe me, that's a rarity in these parts. I usually stick to the savories and tend to skip the sweets, so I have nothing to say about them pastries, but the eggs, are simply great.... More

This is a lovely place to have breakfast or just a coffee and pastry. The breakfast buffet is comprehensive, with delicious fruit, cereal, cheese, eggs and home made pastries. This is probably the best coffee house in all of southern Chile.

Traveling in Chile and Argentina for two months is tough if you like a full breakfast. We finally found a breakfast worth getting up for at Marion's. It is a cute, cozy, clean little cafe with a professional and friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious and hearty with eggs that were cooked correctly (hard to find in Chile!) We enjoyed... More

This place smells of grandmothers and the pies taste like they were made by grandmothers. That is how you want your pie to taste, right? For lunch I would recommend cafe blanco's 3500CLP set menu, one block away but Marion's Cafe Aleman is great for an afternoon pie and coffee.

Marion's has great pastries, fantastic lunches, and the best coffee that I had in Chile. It was good enough to earn a return visit promptly the following afternoon.

Nice sofa and music in the background.Coffee tastes all right. The sandwiches are not sandwiches- just salad sitting on top of a couple of pieces of bread and overpriced for that. Was none of the fabled applestrudel in the cake cabinet so we didn't bother with dessert. We weren't sure what all the hype was about on here- same goes... More
