We struggled to choose from the menu as so much choice but enough to make you want to go back and try different dishes. The sandwich/ploughmans are ideal for lunch. The toilets smelt ok as you walked in, but they really need refurbishment as they let the pub down. Excellent choice of cheeses for the ploughmans. The bacon and bread... More

All tables were booked when we tried to make a booking but we arrived early and were shown to an empty table. The menu is extensive and the food of excellent quality, quickly served by delightful staff. Portions are generous, chips very moreish and a good selection of local beers. Highly recommended.

We booked a table for 6 people on a week day. The pub was busy with a lovely atmosphere and we were shown to our table in the snug which was perfect for a girlie evening. We had waitress service from Kat who was incredibly helpful (and patient) and the food was lovely. Definitely recommend.

Have been on many occasions ... food excellent, ambience warm and friendly, and great jazz and live music from time to time.

We booked a table for 10 people (one baby) for a late lunch after a walk for a group having a reunion. We booked the table at 3.30pm. We arrived a little early, but placed our order at 3.30pm. It was a sunny day so we were sat outside. Our starters came our fairly quickly, but our mains didn't come... More

A group of friends and I had a superb meal here last night. The food was lovely-original, fresh and delicious, and the location-amongst all the beautiful countryside really is ravishing. The place is bright, spacious, yet cosy and welcoming. However, it was the staff where it really stood out. We couldn't believe how welcoming and accommodating they were. How lovely!

Super friendly and helpful staff, despite being a busy holiday break we were greeted with welcoming smiles and quickly saved when I managed to spill my entire pint across the table we were at! As things were so busy there was a good long wait for food, so worth bearing this in mind if on an empty stomach, but this... More

We rang and booked a table for two. We arrived ordered a drink and shortly after ordered food. It took an hour and 15 minutes for the food to arrive, we did question where the food was to be told it's next up. 15 minutes later the food arrived. Sadly, don't choose the Plough and Harrow for a relaxing meal,... More

Nice range of dishes, some classics and some more esoteric. Food came with nice chips and a very nice salad. Pub has a range of nice ales, mostly from the Long man Brewery, practically next door.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch, 6 adults and 3 dogs. Walked over from the Cuckmere on the hottest and busiest days of the year so far. Despite being hot and busy the staff were welcoming, efficient and friendly. Unlike some places we have visited they made sure enough staff were on hand. The food was excellent. We had a mixture...
