We called in without booking for an evening meal and ordered one rib eye and one fillet steak. All steaks are cooked on an open fire grill in front of you, if you so wish to see it been done. When the food was served...More

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A hidden gem that is off the beating track but well worth discovering. There is a lovely, cosy, friendly atmosphere in the place and staff that makes you feel right at home. Food prepared in front of your...More

Don't really like to complain about this place as we have been here loads of times and is generally good. The staff were as usual excellent but our steaks were pretty cool as were the plates and some of the side order. My wife sent...More

This place is something else! So cosy and homely the staff are so attentive but not over the top. Me and my partner had the rib eyed steaks hands down the best we ever had! Will definitely be back!

2 bank holidays 2 weeks apart. And I ate in the Firebox Grill each of the Sundays. The tastiest meals in a long time. Everything was gorgeous. Food, ambience and staff. Thank you so much.

Called at late notice and asked could they accommodate 10 us wanting to watch a rugby match and have lunch. Although a busy Sunday they still managed to look after us and we all really enjoyed it. Very good service and a wide choice on...More

Stepped in out of a wintry March day for some chowder by the open fire. It was lovely, really relaxing and cosy. The chowder was tasty but the portion size was very small for the price. It was quite busy where were there, lots of...More

Description
Our restaurant is located on the shores of Lough Swilly, at Fahan, Co.Donegal, in the premises of The Railway Tavern which was formally the Station House of the Londonderry & Lough Swilly Railway Company (L&LSR)..Our Main course dishes are cooked to perfection on our wood burning Firebox Grill, just like in the old days were the engineers on the locomotives, used their firebox to heat their snacks !The Bar and Restaurant still have the old fires blazing which create a very cosy , snug room to eat or drink in ..
