At one time this restaurant was amazing. over the years it has deteriorated in many ways. Service, quality, quantity, and presentation of food. Utensils forgotten to bring to table, sauce forgotten to put on steak, cold plates, no parmesan chees on salad, was a powder...of some kind. Steaks were below par and certainly not worth the money they are charging, We were the only ones in the restaurant that night and they could get nothing right. The steaks were not cooked properly. I could go on, My family have been going to this restaurant for years but it certainly has gone down hill, unfortunately to say while its like this we wont be back. It really was a horrible experience and truly disappointing for a family night out. by the way there is no menu on their website nor on the online ordering, why? and their answering machine cuts you off. We have sent a personal review direct to the restaurant.More

We had a wonderful dinner with friends. The service we received was outstanding. Our server, Amber, was friendly, knowledgeable, and just generally a delight. The table-side salads were delicious! Both the owner, Peter, and Amber took great care to ensure we had a fantastic evening....We will certainly return after such a wonderful time and truly great service!More

When I heard our group was going to Lord Byron "steak house" I was excited to have a great steak. I ordered the 12 oz Rib Eye, my favourite steak, and asked that it be cooked Medium Rare. Medium rare should be reddish/pink inside. I...also ordered what was listed on the menu as a side dish of sautéed mushrooms. When my meal was delivered the steak was covered in a mushroom sauce and it was cooked more like medium well. There was no pink inside and was not very tender. This is not your run of the mill chain restaurant, and is actually named a "steak house", which to me would indicate they specialize in steaks! I was there with a group and did not want to make a scene, but definitely felt disappointed with my over priced $50 steak. My expectation of having a great steak was quickly deflated. Won't be returning.More

Had a terrible experience. There were 6 guests in total. Needed to ask waiter for napkin once our salads arrived. The escargot was bland and just melted cheese over quartered mushrooms and snails. Rice with scallop dish tastes like comes out of a box. No...water refills were asked. Needed to ask waiter for fork. Very poor service amd food is low class and way over priced. Not recommended at all.More

This is my first ever negative review on TripAdvisor. I'm generally of the view of "if you don't have something positive to say, don't say anything", particularly if it happens to be about a local/small business. However... I wish I had read the "Lord Byron...misses the mark" review before we booked for our anniversary. The food was (at best) mediocre, with the one exception of the steak my husband ordered, which he pronounced excellent. Everything else was nowhere near the quality expected for the prices charged. This in and of itself is the main reason I decided to write this review. It is an expensive mistake to make, dining here. Furthermore, the decor is lovely, but detracting from the experience was the jarring Disco music. My husband asked if they would please switch it to something more relaxing (we were at the time the only customers) and they took an inexplicably long time to oblige, to the point where we were wondering if they just wouldn't.More

We dined recently at Lord Byron in Waterdown for a birthday celebration with friends. The dinner started off badly when I had to instruct them as to how to make a whiskey sour as what I was served initially was nothing more than a shot...of liquor and an ice cube!! The replacement was watery but I left that alone. The house soup was delicious but the made at the table Caesar salad was watery and lacking flavour. Our entrees were more of the same travesty. One filet was undercooked, sent back, and returned brutally overcooked. One person ordered a peppercorn steak to be cooked at the table. It came from the kitchen cooked without a peppercorn sauce. When this was mentioned, a gelatinous lukewarm demi glace with some black pepper was presented. The owner was taken to task for this and his response was that no one makes Demi glacé anymore and that was the best they could do. He did agree to remove some of the bill for not serving what was ordered. A dessert of baklava was miniscule, tough and flavourless. This place charges top prices and does not deliver. Note that there were hardly any diners in the place. Never again!More

We were a party of three. We were greeted by the owner, who cited in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner. The prime rib, fillet, and New York steak were perfectly done, accompanied by delicious roast vegetables (asparagus, carrots, red and green peppers) and a...choice of potatoes. The shrimp cocktails and the Caesar salad were excellent starters. The music and the soft lighting were exceptional, contributing to the ambiance. We had a great time and the hospitality and food were superb!!! Thank you for making the special event we were celebrating so memorable!More

If you are planning a night out, nice dinner, good food, drinks and atmosphere go to Lord Byron. Skip the big chains, support local with better prepared food, personal service and prices that those other places can’t touch.

The service is exceptional, and menu if fantastic. We had our Anniversary there, and had Caesar for 2, and chateaubriand - all made at the table. I haven't seen this done in at the table in a long time and it is truly the best!...Dessert topped it all off with homemade Greek baklava that was incredible. Will definitely return. Fine dining at its best with incredible service - rare thing these days!More

We had a wonderful family dining experience. We brought our 10 and 8 year olds to celebrate our anniversary with us. Alex, our table side chef, and Paul (the owner) made the evening one to remember. Alex flam bayed the saganaki table-side (Opa!!), as well...as mixed a traditional Caesar salad, AND prepared our Chateaubriand to perfection....right beside us! They were both very accommodating with our kids by putting sauces on the side etc. If you haven’t been, you must.More

6 of us for dinner 6:30 sitting. Food adequate but grossly overpriced and all three bills exceeded menu prices by an average of $22.00. Coincidence? The Past sophistication of this restaurant has been replaced by boisterous music and a raucous atmosphere. Bills were corrected, amounting...to $70+ savings for the table but the mandatory 18% gratuity was still taken by Alex who made out the inflated bills in the first place. We will never go back.More
