Whenever we are visiting our daughter, this is a must! The food is delicious, comes quick and the flavors are so authentic! Love the chai, naan and many vegetarian options, and the portions are generous. The only minus for this place is their not so clean bathroom...

While visiting my daughter in November, she recommended this student-favorite restaurant. The place is clean, casual, and with superb food. Portions were big, and even though we were both hungry, we took leftovers home. The flavors are authentic and the attention was very nice. Food came quickly and the price was very affordable for Berkeley standards. I highly recommend this... More

This is a favorite of locals and I always go here when passing through town. The dishes are full of flavor and prepared fresh in front of you. The vibe is very casual--you get your own silverware, plates, and glasses, and there is a fridge with cold drinking water in it for you as well. The naan and tandoori dishes... More

A delightful restaurant serving flavorful curries (we had the Lamb Vindaloo and the Chicken Tikka Masala), accompanied by either rice or naan, with free "milk tea" as found throughout the subcontinent. The curries were good (a little more lamb in the vindaloo would have been nice), and the food arrived hot and relatively quickly. The restaurant itself is a bit... More

This is authentic Indian and Pakistani food. High quality, big portions and rather inexpensive. There is no full service as one must order at the counter and even grab cutlery and plates from a drawer. The food will then be brought to your table swiftly. Certainly not a luxury restaurant but very authentic and with excellent price for value ratio

This is the place to go to if you want very good curry with no fuss. The restaurant is below a hotel very near UC Berkeley. We ordered our food at the cashier and we get our own cutlery and water; seat ourselves and wait for the food to be served at our table. The portion is quite large.

Right next to the Cal campus, we stopped here after a tour. As vegetarians, we were happy to see so many options for us. The food was piping hot when it arrived which can be a challenge in many restaurants, so it is definitely worth noting when it happens the right way! The food was delicious. I happen to like... Great Pakistani food with free chai tea. Naan is huge and fresh. Price is very good for the area. I recommend giving it a try.

House of Curries is a short walk form the campus of UC Berkeley and is often packed with students. This is a very casual place as are most of the surrounding restaurants. You place your order at a walk up counter and select your own table. If the weather is nice, I recommend dining on the outdoor terrace fronting Durant... More
