Quaint village public house in rural setting. Choice of real ales. Menu has wide choice. Food is average. Service needs to improve. Visit was a big disappointment.

The pub put on a buffet for my Mum's wake - bit odd perhaps, but the service is great, the staff are friendly and the food was excellent.

Had great meal here with a friend, we had salmon gravalax to start, followed by haddock and chips and seafood pasta, both excellent, very friendly and helpful service. Will go back.

Enjoyed a family lunch for Mothers' Day. Pub and restaurant busy so service was slow. Waited an hour for food. Staff were good and great atmosphere in the hostelry. Quality of food good. A satisfactory lunch and overall enjoyable experience.

Been here a few years ago and it was fine, seems to be under new management now and I have never ever had a roast dinner like this in my life! The lamb was just pure fat, yes I know lamb can be but this was a different level, the potatoes and parsnips were hardly roasted and the veg wasn't... More

We were asked what drinks we could like after 10 mins of waiting and still no drinks I went to the bar and got the drinks myself... More

Came here for Mother's Day lunch (12 of us). Had a little bit of a wait for the food but given the day, this was expected. Really impressed with the quality of the food, the kids meals were huge and desserts were delicious. We haven't been for over a year as we're always disappointed but seems to be new management?... We come here weekly with family and friends. To be precise, 20 of us including kids on the last occasion. I only live 5 minutes down the road, so in theory this is my local now. I have eaten here over a dozen times, and must say the quality of food and service is second to none. Keep up the... More

The food we had was very very good, and really recommended, nice skate wing, and lovely sausages. BUT, around 10pm the music got turned on and it is way to way too loud in the bar restaurant area, too loud to have a good conversation and we had to leave - and this is not the band nights, this is...
