Even after reading the rave reviews and being told by the desk staff at our hotel next door that this was the best food in town we were still a bit apprehensive. But the food, service, and fun factor were as good as described. You wouldn't expect that swordfish would be something you'd order in the Eastern Sierra, but it... More

You walk into a small bowling alley with a few formic booths for food ordered at & picked up from a counter at a bar. We were told that there was a 30 minute wait to get a table in the restaurant with its entrance from the bowling alley. In less than 30 minutes we were seated and greeted by... More

We went to The Back Alley because of all the great reviews. The chef everyone else had must have been off the night we went. Our waiter was very friendly and was pretty frank about the steaks and cocktails. We were going to order a rib-eye (since it was raved about in reviews), but our waiter suggested the New York... I dined at The Back Alley at the advice of the nearby hotel staff, and was not disappointed. Don't let the looks from the entry dissuade you. It does look like a bowling alley because it is, and the restraint is not fancy, but the menu is extensive and upscale. Lots of steaks, seafood, and even lobster! I had the... More

The Back Alley Restaurant in the Bishop CA bowling alley serves great food where you would least expect it, in a bowling alley. The prime rib served Thursday-Sunday is excellent as is the seafood dishes. Casual atmosphere in a bowling alley. I'll return next time I'm in Bishop.

We had our doubts that the better restaurant recommendation was in a bowling alley. But it was very good!!

We decided to stop and have lunch on our way back from Tahoe recently. I had a burger and fries, and it was good. My daughter had the shrimp and fries, and it was also great. My wife had the blt, and it was really good. I also had a pitcher of coors light! I've eaten here numerous times in... More

What hasn't been said about this place? The food is perfect and inexpensive and the service & staff is what you would expect from a small town, polite and discrete. Definitely worth a night here for dinner & even a few games of bowling if you are in town. Take the plunge, you won't regret your choice for dinner tonight.

Yes you can actually get good lobster at a bowling alley! Service needs improvement but the food was very good. Quite impressive for an actual bowling alley.
