We camped close by and my husband wanted a Margarita with lunch, went to Carmelita's Mexican Grill because they serve liquor. Lunch was very good, and the service was really good to waitress was very pleasant and informative. PS - husband had 2 Margaritas.

Traditional Mexican restaurant with a lot of local flare. Wait and host staff was friendly. Came here on a Wednesday night with a party of two. Waited about 5 mins for a table but they were busy. Looked like a full bar with 3-4 domestic beers on tap. Menu was typical Mexican with fajitas, burritos, etc. came here with a... More

Not super impressed with the bartender who was mostly interested in sharing her stories about drinking and getting wasted, but liked the place and the food was delicious! Definitely a local hangout and a very loyal bar crowd from what I could tell. Next time I would skip the bar and sit at a table. But overall cool place.

Lively atmosphere at happy hour, competent and friendly service. Great fajitas and excellent salsa. Right in the middle of town.

Have been here every time I come to Borrego Springs. Although there is more competition in the way of more Mexican restaurants this place is still very popular. The service os prompt and friendly. I was in early on a Saturday evening and it was about half full. They seat you and immediately bring you chips and a nice salsa.... More

My chicken mole was really great! My husband's plate of enchilada, tamale, and I think burrito was pretty good. Because of the mole, we just had to return the following evening and have it again! Lots of locals eating there, really good food. Reasonable prices. Great margaritas, with option for a super-sized one.

Visiting Borrego Springs today funding Carmelita's. Had Huevos Rancheros and coffee. Very nice. Good service. Nice people. Sitting on the patio is perfect as was the weather. Smack dab in the middle of the Borrego Bautista State Park. Full Menu de comeda Mexicana. Full bar. Right next to the new Performing Arts Center.

If you like seafood Ceviche then this is the place (the only one in town) that serves it up! Fresh and generous servings offering small and regular portions on the menu. I'm never disappointed. Yum, yum, yum!

The chips and salsa were good and service was friendly and prompt. Overall food was ok but it didn't agree with me at all, I was sick the rest of the evening and couldn't eat much the next day.
