I am a foodie, a cook and difficult to please. Shadowbrook is a local icon and worth a visit. From the tram that takes you from street level down the steep incline to the front door to the wonderful décor, the lush landscaping and view of the flowing river, I can see why so many people flock to Shadowbrook. Do... More

I will never forget this restaurant. I have been around the world twice and have been in many incredible restaurant but never have I bee in such a place I will always remember. First you go down to the restaurant with a funicular . That's a unique experience in itself. It will impress anybody you bring :) It looks over... More

So this restaurant is a fun family experience. Of course the cable car was a hit with the children. We decided, after reading the suggestion in TripAdvisor , to walk down and see the beautiful plantings while it was still light out and take the cable car up at the end of the dinner. It was a good suggestion as... More

Tuesdays has appetizers two for one. The pizza's are really good and you can have Ahi two ways, poke or wrapped in nori and panko and slightly seared. There's a lot to choose from and the ambience is great, and the garden is gorgeous.

This restaurant is in a remarkable location, built into the side of a hill overlooking a lovely river. A real funicular takes you down to the restaurant. Quite classy I personally do not understand the high ratings for this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food is good quality with copious portions. On the other hand, nothing was special, especially,... More

We arrived early one evening and were immediately delighted by the ambiance. With two little boys in our party of 5, we sat on the outdoor patio which allowed them "wiggle room." They loved the funicular as well as the scenic steps to and from the restaurant. The food was well prepared and presented. Our server was understanding and professional.... More

Ride the red trolley down to the restaurant and the inside is like walking back in time. So beautiful, with 5 levels right on the river. Great old time wooden bar and lots of speciality drinks and great wine list. Service was superb. Baked Brie was great as an appetizer and the ahi tuna salad nicoise was just ok. Scampi... More

Not that hungry so we opted for appetizers only. The tram is adorable and very unique to any restaurant. We had river view and it was lovely. The restaurant is cozy and warm and quaint. Table cloth. I ordered the creamy artichoke soup. It was excellent! I also had a side of spinach and it was average. Our waiter was... More

We were so excited to bring my mom to this restaurant for her birthday dinner! It had been recommended by everyone we talked to! The ambiance was incredible. Very unique with the tram down to the restaurant and all the different levels once inside. The service was pretty good, too. The food was what was a bit disappointing. It lacked... More

Dinner tonight was amazing. This was our first meal there. Trip Advisor was why we chose this place. First of all it is away from the main strip of Capitola which in itself was nice. There is a lot of parking but when we left the restaurant at 7pm, the parking lot was full and cars were circling. You can... More
