Tuna Melt with sweet potato fries and a pickle. Sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful San Diego Sunday. Lunch after 2pm is quiet and service was fine.

We were very disappointed with Broken Yolk. Our eggs were overcooked, the pancakes were tasteless, and the bacon very puny. While it is not expensive, you get what you pay for--which in this case is not much value.

Food was pretty good, but in my opinion it's hard to screw up breakfast foods. Good selection. I ordered a Diet Coke and their serving is a ginormous cup, that I was able to take the balance in a to go cup. Quite frankly it was too large a serving and it kind of forces you to get more than... A very good La Costa area restaurant for Breakfast or Lunch. My favorite is their pork chops and eggs with home potatoes. Their omelets are very good along with their blueberry pancakes. They also have Gluten Free pancakes available. Can be very busy on weekends, but wait times are usually not super long. Service has always been friendly

Came here for breakfast. Got sat right away. Loved their Golden State Benedict but was on the cold side. Great biscuits & gravy!!! Service was a little slow. 4 star instead of 5 because service was a little slow & Benedict barely warm but otherwise it would have been a 5 :)

My cousin & I had omelets for breakfast & they were cooked perfectly, delicious & very generous. I had a biscuit with mine & have never seen a biscuit that big & it was also delicious. I ordered hot tea and was brought a basket of many assorted teas! Very nice touch. Overall the place was very clean- the food... More

Found this breakfast/lunch spot while driving and it was well done. Nice patio and good menu with many options. Decent service as our waiter was overwhelmed often. I would come back.

Broken Yolk was the perfect breakfast spot for my brother, our Dad (who was visiting from Oregon), and myself. The food, service, and atmosphere was ideal before we enjoyed opening day at Del Mar Fairgrounds.
