I was expecting to have a tiring day looking for bargains but, instead, what I found was some excellent brands offering good deals. No crowds.

Yummm! This charming tapas restaurant is tucked in off of the street. Everyone in our group of four really liked this place. I would particularly recommend the boquerones, Patatas bravas, arancini, cauliflower, and another dish that the waiter recommended (the menu has changed seasonally from the one online). The vegetarian paella was OK--we think the seafood paella would have been... More

A group of us visiting the area for a few days found this little gem in Carmel. The food was fabulous with lots of creative flavors and surprises. Everything was delicious. The service was very friendly and very helpful in selecting and customizing our menu choices and wine. Too bad we don't live close by so we could go back... More
Wow, thanks for that review! I´m happy you´re happy, that´s the idea. Gabe More
Mundaka does not show up as one of the top restaurants in Carmel and it absolutely should. Tucked away in a quiet courtyard, its basically tapas that clearly is designed and cooked by someone who was trained in Spain. Everything we had was inventive, superbly cooked and delicious. Our waiter was extremely helpful with suggestions and we tried some things... More
Thanks for the review! I promise the paella will taste better next time. Hope to see you soon, Gabe More
Went here with family and friends for a mezza that was both freshly cooked and tasty. Great little spot and lovely ambience. Toilets could do with an update.
Thank you for the review! I´ll talk to the staff about the toilette situation. There´s always room for improvement. :) Gabe More
If you are looking for great ambiance, good wine at a reasonable price point and savory food made from locally-sourced organic ingredients this is the restaurant for you. I ate there 4 times during my stay in Carmel and loved every visit. The octopus with polenta was amazing. The foie gras and banana was a mouthwatering masterpiece and the lamb,... More
Wow! Amazing review. Thank you so much, really! When customers are happy and understand what we are doing here, it´s just perfect. Thank you again. Gabe More
Good service coupled with a good choice on the menu and some fine wines make for a most pleasant evening here. Nothing too special about the atmosphere, but overall very good indeed.
I was excited to eat tapas in Carmel. My thought was that the food would be extraordinary. It was just ok. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I'm from New York so I've had good food. Also, I have some preconceptions about Spanish tapas. I was looking for great ingredients and decent portions very well prepared. I had Serrano Ham,... More
We snuck in to this restaurant in a small courtyard from the suggestion of our caddy. The restaurant did not disappoint. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Several tapas items were amazing, especially the steak tartare. Drinks were unique and generously poured.
After experiencing two Carmel restaurants with waits of one hour plus in town, we stopped into Mundaka for our family favorite, Spanish tapas. We were warmly welcomed, and shared several dishes that we all thoroughly enjoyed. The Sandia salad with heirloom tomatoes and watermelon was fresh and delicious. The Patatas Bravas with both red and white sauces was quite tasty.... More
