We were walking around in the beautiful town and we found this restaurant. As we were looking at the menu two people were also entering the restaurant and told us we had to try the restaurant as it was amazing. We listened and we were...amazed by this place. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff at the restaurant gave us tips on which places to visit the following day and gave us a “local” list of attractions to visit. The staff at the restaurant accommodated our gluten allergy. All of their sauces were made on site and were all gluten free. The Sea Bass was amazing. We loved it so much we returned the following night and had another great meal. It’s a quaint restaurant with amazing food. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone.More

Yum. Excellent service and seafood. Thank you to my friend who highly recommended we dine here. Highlights - perfect Kir royales, the crab tower, black bean halibut and almond sea bass. We had dinner reservations for Saturday evening and were seated immediately. Our server was great and had the best recommendations. The food was amazing although I may have eaten too much! We had an overall great evening at this amazing little restaurant. Will definitely eat...here again when we are in town.More

We just finished four nights in Carmel, dining at four top rated restaurants. On our last night we dined at the Flying Fish Grill. It was clearly the highlight of our stay. It was the top recommendation of most of the locals we talked to,...and they were right on. With any great restaurant, picking out the meal choice from many outstanding choices is often a challenge, as it was at the Flying Fish Grill. The Ahi, Yin-Yan Salmon and sea bass stood out in the recommendations we received. We usually don't order the same entree so we can share a little from each other's plate, but neither of us had had sea bass recently, so we both ordered it - a GREAT decision. Best meal either of us has had in a long time. - nothing mre to say. For appetizers we enjoyed the tempura shrimp and calamari - both excellent. The calamari can get rubbery if left too long before eating, but when first served - it was as good as we have had.- so enjoy it early.More

We spent a few days in the Carmel area. Counted on Trip Advisor's reviews to pick a restaurant. My wife was a little skeptical as we walked in. Didn't get the best table, ours was near the entrance (I assumed the lateness of our reservation...was the reason). But the service was outstanding and the food won her over. Wines were very reasonably priced for such a good restaurant in an expensive community.More

Can I give this wonderful restaurant 10 stars?! Incredible atmosphere and architecture! Delicious food! ( We had the seafood hot pot. Lots of fun!) And the service was outstanding! We will definitely go back next time we are in Carmel!

I’d give it six but …. cool space and vibe. BE sure to get a reservation. The oysters were simply amazing. Me - halibut in the black bean parchment paper was to die for. The depth of flavors were indescribable. Each bite better than the...last. My husband got the almond sea bass and I tried one bite and almost wished I had ordered that until I took another bite of mine. Dessert you ask? The banana ice cream caramel was recommended by two servers there and was astonishing. I wish I had pictures…..More

Really enjoyed this little spot! I had the Alaskan black bean halibut, and it was delicious! If you're in Carmel, give them a try!

We were referred to this restaurant by friends and were not disappointed. The restaurant itself looks pretty nondescript located in a shopping square. Once inside there are several nooks utilized for seating. The service was excellent from start to finish. The menu consists mainly of-yes-fish...dishes. Our party ordered several appetizers including shrimp tempura, spring rolls and the “tower” and they we were all great. Two in our party had the sea bass and raved about it. I ordered the yin yan salmon and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The prices were similar to other restaurants in the area and not out of line. Quite simply put-if you are in Carmel this small gem of a restaurant is a MUST!More

3.5% was added to the bill if you use a credit card! Doesn’t everybody, be honest up front! Food is good but I don’t like surprises to the check. The business needs to absorb the cost or raise prices!More

We had reserved a spot at the Flying Fish Grill based on the many positive reviews we saw on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The menu was creative and the food excellently prepared, It truly was one of the best of many good meals...we had during our trip to California. Don't miss this restaurant.More

Service Awesome! Food Awesome! We are foodies - this was the 3rd place we had dinner while in Carmel and hands down the BEST! CA Tower we delicious. Carmel Valley mixed greens - clean and the dressing was Great. The Black Bean Halibut Amazing! Curry...rice - Yum! Too full for dessert! Definitely going back on our next trip!!More
