Stylish bistro on the main street in Carmel. Italian food from a small menu was good. Service was reasonable, food rather overpriced in my opinion. Outdoor seating area looked interesting but my advice don't go there on a cold Monday evening in mid March. The signature dish of crab ravioli was noteworthy. 18% service was added to the bill, 'a... We had been driving most of the day so we ended up looking for an open restaurant later than usual - we were greeted warmly and served without feeling rushed - the food and the presentation were wonderful. Had a very good roasted garlic - and a cheese dish that was flambe very impressive - though I wasn't a fan... More

We arrived toward the end of dinner service on a holiday weekend, and they were out of many dishes. We each ended up with out second choices, but we're very happy with them. The food is excellent and the prices not excessive, especially for a tourist town. Our only complaint was the excessive noise. We eventually asked to move, which... More

Visit Carmel every year during Auto Week. Have been to many Carmel restaurants (Little Napoli, Vesuvio, Cantinetta Luca, Grasings, The Cypress Inn, Mission Ranch, AW Shucks) - have walked by Nico on every visit to town. This time we stopped and checked out the menu posted outside. Menu appeared varied and appealed to us. Made a reservation for 8:00 p.m.... More

The food tasted like it does in Italy, very good. We were a party of 9 and the kids could share a portion. The spahetti bolognese was very good and it tasted that it was prepared from the ground. All of us were very happy with the taste.

Had roasted garlic as starter. Good, 4 stars. Main dishes: crab ravioli and penne portofino. Ravioli deserves 5 stars, distinct Champagne taste with great sauce. Penne is about 3 1/2 to 4 stars, bit oily. Bread was great. Warm. Service was very good. When customers arrived in bunches, it become slower but greatly improved otherwise. Prices are reasonable for Carmel.... More

I got my expectations way up when the waiter brought us delicious fresh, crunchy bread with wonderful dip made from olive oil, sun dried tomatoes and anchovies. But our entrees were truly disappointing. My pizza mare tasted like it was previously frozen, my friends gnocchi with sage sauce was colorless and bland. Not worth the price.

Nico's is a nice spot, especially the back outdoor area, and the pizza and Greek salad were quite tasty. Be aware that when they ask you if you want water and you do not want to pay for still water, ask for tap water.
