We stopped by Rio Grill on our last visit to Carmel when we couldn't get into Mission Ranch and we were sure happy that we did. Rio Grill is located in the Crossroads Center and doesn't look like a great place for dinner but when you come inside, it has a great atmosphere. We didn't have reservations on a Friday... More

Appetizers were excellent - Buffalo carpaccio and roasted artichoke! Try either one and you will enjoy. Both of our main dishes were very good but served a tepid to cold temperature: My husbands skirt steak was well seasoned but arrived room temp; my lovely stuffed poblano was actually stone cold inside - clearly a pre-prepared main that was not properly... Nice Decor. Overall food is above average and decent. Not necessarily great. Wait staff are attentive and provide good service.

The Rio Grill is a noisy, happy place. Waitstaff is excellent; knowledgable but not stuffy. This is my third visit; my husband's first. Since we had been snacking and wine-tasting for much of the day, we opted to order just entrees. My husband's duck was a generous portion, cooked perfectly and well-balanced. I had a prawn pasta dish that had... More

I have not dined here in a many years, although I used to frequent it a decade ago. I was glad to see a more diverse menu than it used to offer. Quesadillas, empanadas, grilled cauliflower with Asian Indian flavours, Italian Carpaccio. We ordered the empanadas, crab cakes, cauliflower, and beer & wine. The dessert portions are huge: a serving... More

we ate here twice.... both times because we were with family one night and friends the next. They are locals and eat here frequently. We loved the food... the ceaser salad was delicious as was the shrimp pasta. a bit noisy, but other than that a+

We had the fire-roasted artichoke and the wood smoked chicken. Both were excellent. Monday night is half price for bottles of wine!

Located in a mall just off the highway, this is a large, nicely decorated restaurant that feels like an upscale chain. Went for lunch - food was very good though a little pricey for lunch.
