Limited menu and prices are outrageous. Save your money, pack a lunch and get the same view from the sand.

Being a San Diego native I sometimes take the ocean for granted. The Del always reminds me how lucky I am to call this town home. Brought out of town guests for a quick and easy lunch with amazing ocean views. We enjoyed a beautiful walk to this iconic California hotel- this bar and grill offers a casual setting to... More

We stopped in to visit the Hotel Del Coronado and had lunch at the Sun Deck Bar & Grill. Great views of the ocean! My husband and I ordered drinks which were very good! Service great. Food good as well. We all loved their chips and salsa for an app, plus my girls also had a burger, quesadillas, and chicken... More

I met and made new friends. What a view! There was a really fun band playing the Oldies. You can just sit, or order just a drink or eat Ceviche or a Burger & fries. You can look down over the pool and the grounds as well as see the stretch of the long Coronado Beach. Totally a spot to... More

After walking along the beach for half an hour, my husband and I bellied up to the Sun Deck Bar and enjoyed a cold beer and a sea breeze. The bartender, Tina, was very friendly.

It's been many years since I have had the opportunity to enjoy a lunch on the verandah at The Del. The day that I recently enjoyed a lunch there, the sky was brilliant blue, the sand was bleach white and the surf, if not wavy enough for surfing, was at least very frothy. The temperature was a moderate 65 degrees,... More

This is a great place to come have a happy hour cocktail. The view of the beach is great. The people watching is epic. Seating is first come first serve. Kitchen closes at 5 pm.

The spot is ideal the service level didn't come close to the prices. Lots of servers disappearing and not helping. It took a good 20 mins. to get our cocktails. We paid $16 for a so-so glass of wine and it was served in a plastic cocktail glass! First time for everything, I guess.

We always try to stop at the hotel's Sun Deck Bar when in Coronado. It's not cheap, but the wine and food is good, there are views of the ocean and the people watching is even more fun.
