Claytons is down home cooking in a retro diner. We were walking along Orange Ave looking for a place for pre-theater dinner. Walked past Clayton's and stopped short. Red plastic (leather?) seats around a horseshoe shaped counter. Booths. A real phone booth. Juke box at every table. Waitresses wore old fashioned frilly aprons. And the food! Comfort food. And delicious.... More

Very friendly, fast service. Tons of diner coffee refills. Huevos Rancheros were good but nothing memorable for that price. I should have had basic eggs and pancakes. I'll also return to try some pie or milkshakes. Love the old bar seats. Wonderful staff and overall experience.

This place is a classic diner with very good food and excellent service. Everything our party of four ordered, was delicious and quick to the table. It is small and very busy, so plan ahead, as there may be a wait. The only negatives are the tight seating and walking aisles, since the place is small. Also, I did notice... More

Clayton's is the quintessential 50's diner experience. Our kids absolutely loved it. Great burgers, fries, shakes, malts and sundae's. Simply awesome.

I choose this title based on my dining experience with my family. This place has a lot of interesting food on their menu, from breakfast to brunch, sandwiches and others. I'm sure a lot of them are delicious. I will give a fair, honest review base on my experience. This place has long lines ,we waited approximately 45 minutes to get a table,and... More

It is a quintessential 50's diner, right down to the grease that cakes the walls, the tableside Wall-o-matic jukebox controls and the chrome edges of the Formica tabletop. But the plates and silverware were clean, and the food was good. So I suppose you can chalk all that up to ambience. Juice tasted too sweet though, like it had added... More

Just got back from having a very average breakfast here. The place was packed. It was noisy and the food was only average at best. I can't think of anything about this place that warrants the high reviews of other patrons. The service was very slow probably because of them being understaffed. By the time our food got to us... This is a relatively small coffee shop on Orange Avenue, Coronado’s main street. They have both indoor seating and an outside counter for take-out. And they advertise themselves as having been voted ‘best local coffee shop’ (or anything close to that, anyway). This eatery stretches out around a long U-sized counter, with tables along the walls. There are a lot... More

We stopped in for a late breakfast. Very traditional diner. Great look. Service was quick friendly and efficient. Food very good. Loved it!
