This is a typical diner where breakfast is breakfast, coffee is coffee and the food is as good as it gets. Don't be intimidated by the somewhat old decor. It's clean!

My personal way to judge a diner is by their breakfast and milkshakes. They do great in both categories. I'll go back!
The cold brew is delicious. The wait is long for a coffee shop, but I liked the convenience of window service. They also have lots of yummy donuts. The hot coffee is only $1 and is super smooth.
This place had a menu a mile long, same with lines on Sunday morning so we went in the late afternoon. Still packed but service was good ad food was too.
Clayton'sis a flash from the past, a true 50's diner that is an institution in Coronado. Locals and visitors find their way here for pancakes, eggs, waffles and delightful servers. Service is quick and friendly and food wholesome and plentiful.
Along Orange Avenue with all the ritzy type of restaurants, Clayton's is a wonderful option to enjoy some hearty good food at a fun, old time atmosphere place. The shakes are excellent and their menu is huge! Especially considering how small the place really is!
