This is our go to sushi restaurant and it never disappoints. The chefs (Harry, Hide and Holy) are all excellent. Unfortunately, the waitresses are as terrible as the chefs are good so sit at.the sushi bar.

Wanted to try a different sushi place from our regular in the Costa Mesa area. This is a very small restaurant, pleasant and clean but not a fancy place. Excellent service. Sushi was amazing, not as artfully prepared as some places but absolutely fresh and flavorful. What a great value. Agree with another reviewer, try the gyoza too!

Nice casual restaurant. We really enjoyed the lunch combinations and the salmon teriyaki. The crunchy roll is excellent as well.

You know the feeling when the meal is over and you're full and you wish you could go back to being hungry so you can start all over again. That's Wafu for ya. Also the waitress was wonderful. If you're there on a weekend make sure you put yourself on the waiting list.

The restaurant is reasonably small with tables and a sushi bar. It is operated as a family business. It offers amazing innovative sushi. The sushi itself is of course as can be expected adapted to the US market but the influence of the original Japanese style can be found in the perfect presentation. The sashimi dishes are especially good! For... More

It's small and got a little stuffy (could have used some AC), but the flavor of our meal was excellent & we would definitely return. It was delicious. Everything from the hot miso soup, salad with a dressing full of flavor, sushi, & baked salmon was so good. All four adults and my toddler really enjoyed the experience. Thanks for... More

We've often gone to Wafu's for sushi as it's a good local place, but for the last few months the service has been terrible. We waited 15 minutes for a table. A couple got seated after us and ordered and got their food and drinks before anyone even approached out table. We had to flag someone down to get our... More

I was staying at a hotel accross the street from this restaurant and based on where it was located one might get the impression it was an iffy restaurant. I did a Japanese Restaurant search and this place came up with a 4.8 rating so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered to go and went back to... More

We loved it and thought it some of the best sushi we have ever had. Plus the price was so unbelievablly inexpensive for the quality of the sushi. A real winner for the sushi lover and we will be back.

OK -- I had mostly the sushi so not sure if the other items are as good EXCEPT: Goyza! OMG -- this maybe the best Goyza I've had and I eat a LOT of this. In fact, I judge my Japanese restaurants on the quality of the goyza. They make theirs IN HOUSE FRESH and it's amazing. The dumplings are... More
