Everything about this place screams ”Old School”. Good fun, great service & fantastic food. Only advice is arrive early ... or order takeout. Seating is limited and locals have been flocking here since 1962.
I have been eating at Johnnie’s since I was a teenager in the 1960’s. The hot pastrami is abundantly delicious. Granted, a tad pricey at $16 but they don’t skimp and the flavor is scrumptious. They pile the pastrami onboard a soft roll and it...More

Another popular joint for hot pastrami sandwich. Long lines to dine in as well as take away! Very traditional diner experience with mid range prices. The corn beef sandwich was good tasting. Fried chicken with chips was acceptable whilst their cheeseburger were not as expected!...More
Friendly service and food with a home cooked flavor. Pastrami sandwuch was steaming hot, tender, not too salty and huge - filling. Inside was a little tight but plenty of space outside. Can't get more LA than this.
This has been the go to for a pastrami sandwich. Always goid- and the fries too! The price has gone up, and make sure to have cash- cash only! There is an ATM just outside the door if you forget. If you've never had one...More
Went to visit family in Culver City and Stopped at the famous Johnnies Pastrami. My favorite has always been Pastrami on a Roll. They give some really yummy pickles that delicious. And i have to have Chili peppers as well.
If you need a pastrami fix, this is a good place to get it. There are a few other items on the menu (but not many vegetables), but this is mostly a sandwich shop. I can't say for sure if this is the best pastrami...More
