Aside from the excellent food and creative menu, the entire atmosphere was terrific. Service is always wonderful and personal. It's nice to be recognized by the staff. We go there about once every six weeks, and it only gets better. On another occasion last week, I had an early evening business meeting in the lounge (lobby bar). My guest was... More

We came here with a group of friends to check out the new southern-inspired menu. My husband is from Florida and was looking forward to some southern food. We started with a bunch of shared plates, including the charcuterie plate, shrimp and grits, asparagus and ramps, and the chicken and dumplings. The shrimp and grits was the standout (we ordered... One of the best meals we have ever had. The new chef, Brandon Fortune, has developed a unique "Southern meets Del Mar" fare that is as unique as it it delicious. The shrimp and grits were amazing!! The Mac and Cheese is a must-have side to any meal here! This energetic and creative young chef has created a distinctive menu... More

The first look when deciding on the next restaurant to visit is always for the online menu to get an idea about the cooking style and creativity of the chef and how it overlaps with our preferences. But the second look often immediately follows to the personal background page of the chef. It is always very interesting to read the... More

I had one of the best meals I've ever had here...The ingredients are fresh; the combination of ingredients is exquisite. The service is friendly and efficient. The restaurant is located inside a hotel at a beautiful location.

Had breakfast there two days in a row. The food is good quality and some very tasty options. The price is on the high side as you would expect at a nice hotel. We had a table of 7 with separate checks. The restaurant added 20% tip to each and an extra service charge as well. The food was very... More

Recently I dined with five friends here and because we needed to talk and a large round table did not encourage that, they moved us to the private dining room, quiet, surrounded with wine bottles, and with the most exquisite and attentive service. We arrived at 7 and left at 11:15 only because it seemed the rest of the restaurant... More

I have had the pleasure of eating at this amazing restaurant twice. I live in NY and I must say it's in my top five of all time. I have no idea what these people are talking about. Service is better than the food, which is a ten, only to be topped by the ambiance outside. I actually took the... More

We thought the menu and food was very creative, but our food arrived barely warm. Our waiter never came around until we were almost done. Could be really fabulous

Had a very nice lunch on the patio at Kitchen 1540. Beautiful setting. We split the Tuna Tataki salad. A little light on the Tuna, but rare and tasty. My wife's burger was, to quote her, "awesome". My fish tacos (3) were a very healthy portion and the cabbage & pickled onions added a nice flavor. Plenty of grilled fish.... More
