This place has a LONG history -- it is located out in the countryside - an old converted house. Has been there for more than 60 years -- and no remodeling ever done. Keep an open mind - it is not modern at all. Pros: Food is considered good Mexican food. One of the few places where authentic fresh nopales... More

Restaurant is old and dirty. Service is slow. Food is OK but not sure how no one hasn't gotten sick eating here. They need to get with the times and accept debit cards.

We had heard that this was a neat and weird place that had tons of history in the area. It used to be a store in the 40's and serviced many farmers and what not. We arrived and it was not busy. The one old haggard lady looked at us but did not say anything. We sat down at a... More

Fantastic restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Authentic Mexican food . You must have been there when in the area. You can only pay cash.

The food here is good all around. And is as authentic as it gets. The special quesadilla's are amazing, you won't be disappointed. The mexican fried ice-cream is a great finish to the meal, and a must have. The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. Camacho's is a short drive out of town, but definitely worth it.

I was in El Centro for business and asked two different people where I should eat. Both said Camacho's Place and as it turns out...for obvious reasons. The food was wonderful and the service ultra friendly and accommodating. Rosie treated me like I'd lived there my whole life and Tommy told a story about how he painted his first car... More

Some people have a hard time finding this restaurant. If you find yourself in that position, stop most anyone on the street, and you will get directions that will take you right to their door! I can remember going to Camacho's Place when I was in grade school, and still go there today. Some of the faces of the help... More

I first ate at Camachos in 1967, the last time I ate there was 1977. We stopped by today the place and the food is just like it was in 1967. The have a 1946 refrigerator full of cold soda and beer. The special deep fried quesadillas are fabulous. The chips and salsa are great. We had chili verde and... More
