If you decide to travel north from San Diego, this town/strip is a great place to start. Near the ocean and some great places to eat. This is one of a few and has a good lunch menu to suit all styles. From flatbreads to salads to a good selection of naughty deserts. Prices are good and service is friendly... More

We are regulars at the union kitchen and tap, one of our favorite locations in the coastal North County. If you want great “ Gastro-pub” creative upscale fare in an energetic classic San Diego Bar/microbrew atmosphere, the union is great choice. The Fisherman’s stew is one of the best in San Diego in my opinion, filled with large shrimp, abundant... More

The shrimp and grits are awesome! Couple it with their drink selection and you are good to go! Eat in the main room for lively evening, or the Oak Room for quieter conversation.

I recently tried Union for lunch the other day with my boyfriend. We were driving down the coast and decided to stop in. I had been before and didn't love the vibe but thought I would give it another chance. I still felt the same this time around. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated right away. We... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant for dinner with a local friend, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is warm and pretty loud, very casual, and friendly. The menu was outstanding with some unique and interesting items. We shared the poutine which was a diet different than the Canadian classic but was still amazingly good. We then... More

When we first walked in it was extremely loud but we were seated in the dining room and it was much better. Service was excellent, attentive but not over bearing. The food was fabulous. We had looked at menu online ( it was clearly a fall menu) and had all had an idea in mind but realized when we got... More

Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday after a hike in Torrey Pines. Lots of football on several TVs but easily ignored if you're not into football. Very busy but a fun crowd. All ages but mostly 20-30 somethings. The bartender was not particularly engaged but once we got a table Nick, our server was awesome! Attentive but... More

Stopped in for lunch after a walk into Encinitas from San Elijo SB campground. I had the buffalo burger with fries which was excellent. My wife had the fish and chips which was also excellent. The restaurant has a great sports bar feel. The service was excellent. We will go back next time we in that area.

Union has a classic sports bar feel with a nice upscale atmosphere. Nice menu with many great tasting choices and a nice wine and beer selection. We were very pleased and would go back in a heart beat.
