I ordered pad thai. The noodles were overcooked and mushy. The noodles been broken into small pieces. I asked for more peanuts, as there was just a dusting of ground peanuts on the noodles, and was given a caddy of various condiments, which included ground peanuts. The peanuts were rancid. I had been to this restaurant on one previous ocassion,... More

This is my local foto place. It's very modest in atmosphere but very authentic family run business. I can't speak for all the other dishes but the yellow chicken curry spicy dark meat is served on the bone with the meat falling off, I love the mix of the spices and the consistency of the sauce. Simply the best I... More

Found the flavors here weren't great, and my hot take-out was in a plasticky tub that made me worry about plastic leeching. Was a little disappointed.

Siamese Basil has remained near the top of my Thai favorites list for decades. Service is efficient and comfortable, the food very good and prices reasonable. Pineapple fried rice, curries and Tom Yung Ka Gai wonderful. I recommend it for its small charm and comfort food without breaking the bank, although $7 dollar entree's are now $15 dollar entrees this... More

Second time in two years I've had lunch here. Each time my friend and I are the only customers in the place and each time the service is slooooowww. This time I ordered something different - from the lunch special menu. It was chicken and veggies in a very thick sauce served over white rice that tasted as if it... More

Pad Thai and Pad See ew were not sweet, but sour and tangy. Maybe it's a different style, but I just didn't like it. The Panang curry was good though. Chicken was typical cheap chicken.

The food was fresh and well-prepared and the servers were helpful and entertaining. The dishes didn't have the exquisite & subtle flavors I had hoped for, but we enjoyed them.

We both had the pad Thai -- it was okay. It was fresh but had an odd flavor to the sauce. The service was good and the place is cute and clean. I would try again but get something else.

We've been making this an annual stop for a meal since we started coming to the north-of-San Diego area several years ago. Siamese Basil is a no-frills, informal family-run restaurant with delicious, fresh and well-prepared food. Try the Thai Eggplant Special for a real treat.
