Their ice-cream is the best you can find this side of town, but some of the people who serve you are rather long faced. You have been warned.

A little hole in the wall - delicious homemade gelato! I had the lemon cheesecake and my granddaughter had cookies and cream. Really as good as what I had in Italy. In all fairness to the woman who serves it - owner? I don't think English is her first language and she comes from a different cultural background - when... More

Lots of selection, but the favors are not vibrant. Out of all the gelato rials in San Diego, this is my least favorite. It doesn't taste fresh, the sorbetto doesn't taste like fresh fruit. Tastes closer to ice cream than true Italian gelato/sorbetto. Try Bobboi in La Jolla for the best gelato in town!

Made a brief stop at Bubby's for a little rest while in Encinitas. The store is located in a town square shopping area - so there is a nice place to sit down and enjoy the weather. Good selection of gelato but the portion was a bit small.

Gelato was fine, but I've had better She doesn't display it like you would find in Italy and that is a little disappointing. The price is reasonable for homemade gelato, however I wasn't overly impressed with it. It's a very small restaurant, with only room for 2 or 3 people sit inside.

Delicious gelato. As good as I had in Italy (and I had a cup of gelato everyday on that trip)! The owner and server was a bit cranky, but whatever. We will definitely go back!

This is just a hole in the wall type of place so don't expect a sit down experience and they don't take credit cards, they do take debit cards and cash. Gelato is excellent, I had amaretto and rum cappuccino, delicious, we ate as we walked around doing a little window shopping but there are benches nearby if you want... More

Bubby's is tucked away in the middle of The Lumberyard Shops along the historic 101. They offers amazingly rich gelato that is perfect for both young and old, along with a small menu of sandwhiches and lunch time fair.

We had a very enjoyable dessert. There were many flavors to choose from. I had the expresso chip. It was very flavorful and creamy. My husband and nephew liked theirs too. The server let me sample and was friendly,

I am an x-fan I am so sorry to say. I went in with a friend a few days ago and was treated by a lovely woman who was super friendly. I tried a few types of gelato but the truth is we were headed to a chocolate store near for a piece of chocolate. We went to the other... More
