Big eaters rejoice! The Samoa Cookhouse is the real deal. It's like going back in time to the lumber boom days in Eureka. Big portions, big protein, delicious home baked bread and so much more!

While the eclectic history of the building is worth a trip, the food is so-so and the setting takes me back to eating in the cafeteria in High School. Menu is set so call ahead and be sure you even want what they are serving that day. I am glad i went but it's not a place i would frequent... More

(Or Grandma's). You eat what is cooked that night and the only question is how much can you eat. Our main course was fried ckn white meat only, a little over over cooked and pork ribs which were tasty and cooked correctly. The fresh white bread to die for! Vegetables and sides were good as was the soup. Great for... More

It is an family style eatery. Very friendly and interesting history. Nice museum. This is a place to see and enjoy. Will not be disappointed. Make for a nice break from the ordinary restaurants.

Not just a restaurant, but also a mini-museum with a glimpse into the past. This is a real early 1900's cookhouse in a real "Mill Town". The cookhouse would feed hundreds of men 3 times a day. There are many artifacts and vintage photos to see what it was like back in the day. There is no menu. Whatever is... More

Not what is was years ago but still a must visit place. Take back in time when the Lumber was king and the lumberjacks held sway. Great out of the way place to visit and take in the sights.

This would be a great family place but for just one person it's just not worth it. It was fun riding the little train around the back part of the Bay right next to the Samoa Cookhouse. I took my grandson it was a fun little trip

We had been here 35 years ago on our honeymoon. We came back to Eureka with our daughter, her husband and 4 children for a short vacation. We were so happy to have dinner here and that it was still a great experience. All you can eat. Not a lot of choice of entrees, but really good food and lots... More

Visited here a few days back and had breakfast. Pam, the waitress, was snotty and didn't know anything about the area when asked. There was no one in the place but my party and some Seniors in an adjoining room. Food was average, but we liked the portions, of course, and the décor was interesting. The old Black & Whites... We took my brother to the Samoa Cookhouse for his birthday breakfast, and had a BLAST! Our waitress, Pam, was so friendly and helpful; when we told her it was my brother's birthday, she brought out a slice of french toast with whipped cream and a candle on it! She checked back with us frequently, to be sure that we... More
