It looks like a real Japanese restaurant. Better to book in advance as you may wait up to 1 hour to get a space. 2 coins will hi from tables to tables to grill meat or fish in front of you. There is some cérémonie when preparing the dish. In the end, the meat and fish are not super well... More

Mori has told me that he and three other Japanese teppanyaki chefs were working together on 44th Street in Manhattan in the middle to late 1960s .... and I know that he is telling the truth, because I ate in their restaurant several times while living and going to graduate school in New York. "Present at the Creation" ... No,... More

Teppan grills were the hot ticket in the late 60s and early 70s, and then the number of them around seemed to dwindle. Mori's is an excellent teppan grill---food is good and well prepared. In the old days the guys working the grills in teppan restaurants were mostly Japanese. Well in Southern California a lot of restaurant workers are Hispanic.... More

I've been dining at Mori's for years and the A+ dining experience has never disappointed me. Starting with Mori greeting you, to the food, to the fun preparation at your table...all top notch!

I like bohemian atmospheres and this place has that going for it. Mr. Mori was right there to greet us at the door and was most gracious! The place is kind of dark and the tables are large with the big grills in the centers. Service was good and the food was very high quality. Our chef was not Japanese... More

Just came here for the first time after wanting to to come the last few years. It was a pretty good experience. The place is a bit worn, hot and noisy with drafty, noise-making machines near the front of the restaurant. The stench of oil/butter/meat is stronger than most teppanyaki grills I have been to. The restaurant itself is outdated... More

This place is pure fun. The food is fresh and the chefs are real showmen. The prices are reasonable considering you get your own private chef! Come here if you are looking for not just a meal, but a dining experience. The fried rice is delicious.

We recently visited here for the first time for my daughter's 21st birthday. It was a fantastic choice. The atmosphere was fantastic, with the food served table side with a little flair. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a show, but it was fun. The food was cooked perfectly and the server was attentive enough without being... More

the Teppan Cooks are so awesome to watch... very skillful at cooking in front of you. The flaming onion volcano is awesome. Its a bit expensive but I really have fun when ever I come here. Good service and the food is tasty for sure. Worth a visit - bring your friends and have some sake!

Yes, this restaurant has been around a long time. My husband proposed to me there 21 years ago. Last night we went again for "date night." The food was excellent and masterly prepared. The Teppan cook's show was super with some moves I hadn't seen before, and Mr. Mori still comes out and talks individually to all the guests. Wonderful... More
