If you're looking for cold beer, friendly atmosphere, good service and tasty bar food then this is the place for you. The wings were very most and spicy the way I like them. Very tasty clam chowder. Would like some oyster crackers but sometimes you just have to go without. The street tacos were very good. Chicken with cilantro and... More

We went with a group of our friends to Mongo's for dinner. We had heard the food was good. Well...it was ok. Our group was large - 9 people. The service was very good but ALL of our food was lukewarm to cold. I do not believe it was our server's fault. She was very attentive & only waiting on... More

I went to Mongos so I could watch the football game. I got some of their clam chowder which was served with a Texas toast. It was quite tasty. I didn't try anything else since the bowl of soup was quite filling. I did have some wine with the soup which was fine.

I was raised in Grover City but moved in 1980. Whenever we are back in town we always get a drink and food at Mongo's. Today we had a couple of hoppy IPA beers and chased it with some Bushmill. We also had the Happy Hour Coconut Shrimp which is always excellent. The service, food and drinks are always good... More

Race of Gentlemen was late starting Sat. Oct. 15 and many attendees had to walk up Grand Ave. to find lunch. Unfortunately we went to Mongo's. They were unprepared as the server continued to advise us of the: lack of staff, too many people, etc. Food was okay but the atmosphere brittle with the continual complaints in the dining area.... I was raised in Grover City, now Grover Beach and pickings for good places to eat and drink were a bit slim in the 50s - 70s. Now I find myself visiting since I moved away 36 years ago. Today I stumbled upon Mongo's Saloon and glad I did. I had a nice draft beer and wonderful onion rings. The... More

I was in visiting in town and had no place to go for Thanksgiving. Was driving down Grand Ave. and saw their door open with hardly anyone in the parking lot. Had a couple of great Bloody Mary's and a yummy Ruben Sandwich. Rescued me in my time of need!

This place was a lot of fun. Lots of character and the food was good. I would go here again for food and beer. Perhaps not a place for small children. The staff were very friendly. Liked this place a lot.
