We only dined at the Windermere...we had looked at staying there, but it seemed too stuffy and dated--like the resort out of Micheal Ondaatje's Skin of an Lion...exactly. A place out of time. Not for us. We chose the Baldwin's Resort down the lane instead....We were delighted.More

I have not been to the pub in over 5 years. I used to frequent this establishment regularly but the quality has gone down while the prices have gone up. Had the fish and chips tonight a they were garbage. They food tasted like it...had been left in the rain. When is ownership/management going to do something about this place. You can’t consistently provide the poor quality of food that you have. Judging by A majority of the reviews I am not the only one who feels the same way!More

Went for lunch with another couple. Had fish and chips. Chef more interested in presentation over practically. Served on a very narrow board. When cut the fish half of it fell on the table with the sauce upside down. Don’t know how clean the table...was so made the meal very unappetizing. The food was way over priced for pub fare. My wife had a latte and it was more expensive than my beer. The others said their meat was tough and dry. I would not recommend this pub to anyone. The only positive was that the waitress was excellent.More

Typical pub food served by friendly wait staff, primarily students working here for the summer. Great patio location

The fries are soggy and tasteless. This pub has a very limited menu and there is just no excuse for such awful french fries. The menu is in fact too limited. The only hamburger option is a double patty with bacon and cheese. The cobb...salad was ok, but the dressing was overly thick and tasteless. The fried calamari was underdone and tasteless. We have been coming here regularly over the past 15 years and the food in the last couple of years has been very disappointing. The service was very friendly, but it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive.More

We enjoyed delicious food and drinks the night before our daughter’s wedding. Delicious, freshly prepared with so many locally prepared dishes!

Stopped in here for a sandwich and a cold beer after our round of golf. Nice place for families ( with kids too!) and golfers. Great shaded are as well as tables in the sun overlooking the 18th green. Nice simple menu, friendly staff and...excellent food - overall a really good deal to be had here. Thanks for making our short stay so great!More

Lovely review! We believe you are talking about Windermere Golf & Country Club located across the street from our resort. Our neighbours are wonderful and don't doubt the excellent service!

They made some unwise renovations recently and cut the menu in half. They got rid of most of the good items on the menu and its now extremely limited. Do not order the bruchetta it was 4 small 1/8 of an inch by 2 inch...crackers on a huge plate, was a joke. Cobb salad was very good and fish and chips was decent. Staff not well trained and things were very disorganized. Also very very expensive!!! Its a shame as its a stunning location and used to be good!!!! I hope they do something about it.More

My family and I visit the Windermere house every year and eat here. This year the owners made unwise changes to the menu. The restaurant is titled “PUB”, but most pub food has been removed from the menu such as chicken fingers and nachos. The...children’s menu is lacking and the drinks are very expensive. We don’t mind spending more to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere, but the menu needs more choices. The staff were wonderful as always. When asked about the menu changes, staff informed that much of Windermere is disappointed and all feedback will be provided to the owner. Last year I would have given a much higher rating.More

Came with a group to enjoy lunch. Service was prompt and friendly. We enjoyed the outside patio. Two of us enjoyed the daily special while two of us enjoyed the fish and chips. I substituted the chips for the Caesar salad. My friends raved about...the daily special. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and coleslaw. Unfortunately my fish was just ok. The batter was not crispy and still quite soft and mushy. It could have well stood to be in the fryer for longer. The fish seemed cooked and tasted fresh but in the end I ate the fish and left batter behind. One of the pieces was more cooked than the other but both were not cooked to that fine crisp traditional fish and chip crispness (anyone who is a fish and chip lover will know what I’m taking about) Overall we had a nice meal.More
