I asked the lackadaisical waiter for a habanero since they don't serve jalapeños...it never came,so I asked waiter,"Is it possible to get my habanero"? he said the cook wouldn't do it,was waiters response, never again. Customer service is lacking.

Pretty good family run restaurant. Waiter was ok but not overly friendly and didn't smile. Interior needs a sprouce up but otherwise definitely worth a trip for the food.

We stopped here on a whim. It is a converted older home. Our waiter did the bare minimum of service, however the food was pretty tasty. I had the cochinita pibil (slow roasted pork) with tortillas and all the trimmings. Very tasty and good size...More

Found this superb little restaurant, just a couple blocks off the main streets of Half Moon Bay, earlier today. And, boy, are we glad we found it. Several years ago we learned a bit about traditional cooking in the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula. This share elements...More

It's tiny. It's a block off the beaten path. It's across the street from a school and private homes. It's delicious. It bills itself as Mayan food but it's also Mexican - but not your typical giant burritos, enchiladas served with refried beans, chips and...More

Wandering around town upon arrival, we sought out Café Capistrano because of its great TA reviews. We went in to check out the menu and met the owner/chef and said we'd be back for dinner. When we returned we were warmly greeted and took seats...More

Description
Established in 2001 Cafe Capistrano is a family owned restaurant specializing in Mayan cuisine. Using the freshest local fish, meats and produce infused with Mayan flavors results in light, savory combinations.Chef and owner Arturo Mul reigns from the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico. When opening his restaurant, he wanted to introduce the flavors and food from his home town, Akil. Mul brought in family recipes to help create the menu and special items. Mayan cooking shows influences from Mediterranean Europe, the Middle East, and the rest of Mexico as well as North and South America.
