I know that many have raved about this place, but the food my family had was greasy, and flavorless, and not inexpensive. Perhaps we ordered "the wrong thing," but we are unlikely to return.

We stumbled on to this spot after we had already had lunch in Half Moon Bay. We were immediately intrigued. The decor is eccentric, the place was happy and hopping, and there was a LONG line of folks waiting for a table inside. The menus looked uber tasty. Because we were so curious we waited in the medium long take... More

Every time we come to San Francisco, we always take the scenic drive to Barbara's for their clam chowder and fish and chips. Once you order, don't get up as it will be ready in no time. They only take cash, so come prepared as the food can add up quickly; there is an ATM on site. We like to... More

The restaurant overlooks the marina which was nice. They had an excellent cracked crab dish served with drawn butter and choice of rice or fries which was very good. The garlic shrimp were also nicely done. Great little find!

My son and his father discovered this place 35 years ago, and it's our favorite for seafood! Their clam chowder is very creamy but does not contain any dairy products at all. My son usually gets what they call a "Big Ol' Bowl" takeout container of the chowder whenever we go, even if he has a bowl of it there... More

The chowder here was nice, but was advertised as 'milk product free' or similar. I don't know if that is a good thing, as I prefer a creamier chowder and maybe this could be an option. The fried fish and chips were excellent. Great batter! The fish was local rock cod apparently and this fries really well. The beer was... More

We have been to Barbara's Fish Trap a number of times and have found the fish dishes very good. I usually order the Halibut, but they were out of it this time. Order it, it is very delicious. I had Sea Bass this time and it also was good. The only thing about this eatery is that the prices are... More

My friend and I come annually on our day out to Half Moon Bay. We love the fish and chips- light and yummy. A wonderful annual tradition for us. Kitschy decor, small and crowded but the view is wonderful.

Informal cafe, great food, could be long waits. Staff is very busy, but worth it! There are no signs on the highway, so a bit hard to find.
