With my family for a short stay in Half Moon Bay and ate at Sam's based on reviews, I found it crowded, nosy and a bit dirty . The venue has an ocean view and that must be a draw for the tourists. But the...More

I know that this is a local favorite but Im not seeing it. Tourists like it because of the location, and that is great on a beautiful night with a fabulous sunset. Here is what I know - the parking is terrible. There is just...More

Popular spot for sea food and ocean views lovers. Great spacious dining room and outdoor eating area. Weekends are very hard for parking and expect to wait to be seated.

Well, if you don't like crowds, this is not the place for you. But, if you are willing to wait you will be rewarded. The lobster roll and other seafood choices are fantastic. The desserts are wonderful and the views are amazing. If you're a...More

We dropped in at lunchtime for an early meal. With an ocean table and buzzing atmosphere the scene was set for our seafood choices. The chowder and gumbo are perfect. I prefer the latter and it didn't disappoint as a starter 'bowl entree' Lots of...More

Go for the 1.5 pound lobster because everything else is not more than ok. The rose wine from Provence is good, the polenta fries are interesting and with the fried calamari you can't bet wrong.

The atmosphere is so fun, and I could tell as soon as I walked in that it would be a great experience as it was PACKED. I had a lovely table with a seaside view, which was so nice. I had the lobster roll (they...More

Nice ambience and outdoor seating. They were nice enough to warm up our bread. I liked the beer battered shrimp. The fries were good. My friend enjoyed his clam chowder even though it was more like soup.

Sat outside around a fire pit on a foggy September night. We could hear the waves lapping up on the beach just below us and the fog horn in the distance. Sipping napa Sav Blanc, we had the tuna poke, fried artichokes and lobster rolls....More

This is a very busy place because of the location, the food and the service, so prepare to wait to be seated. We had the lobster rolls, which were very good, though frankly not as good as ones we have had in New England (we...More

Yes, we were actually there yesterday and brought our dog. It was great to be able to dine outside with her! During sunny days, make sure to ask for a shaded area because 80% of the patio is pretty hot and there are no... More

Yes they do. One of the few things about this establishment that I won't rip on. But don't have the "Sam's Special Bloody Mary" because it tastes like they leaned over the deck and pulled up a bucket of "under the pier... More
