We've been visiting The Hayward Ranch for several months now each Wednesday night before attending our night class. Their Early Bird menu is varied and delicious, large servings, and very reasonable, which also includes a FULL glass of white or red house wine. Service is very good, and the ambiance is charming with western memorabilia all over the walls and... More

We are here often for breakfast and for dinner. Today's visit was for breakfast. They are always busy but we have never had to wait for a table. The food is always prepared and presented well. Nothing fancy, just good quality food at the righr price

Three of us went to celebrate Valentine's Day for dinner last night. The interior is charming, with branding irons, posters, art work made of horse shoes and nails. The walls are plank and the lighting western style. The food was very reasonable, hot and plenteous. Two of us had 10 oz New York steaks done medium and juicy with a... More

Nothing good about the food and only thing worse than food was service. Just worst I've been to in months. Mickey D's would have been a better choice. Avoid at all costs!

We went dining out there last night. The inside place looks like a wild west restaurant, we loved the decor for sure. What we ordered was very good. My wife first had fried zucchinis and she liked it very much. Then she ate an half rack of pork Ribs with a thick bbq sauce, we'll cooked and delicious. Ribs came... More

Forty-five years ago, only the rich country folk could afford this place. That's why we went there for lunch. Waiting for relatives to get their stuff together, we decided to break my dad's taboo and find out what it was about. It was about forty bucks for lunch. The steak and eggs were as wonderful as it should be, and... More

After reading all the rave reviews, I bought a Groupon coupon and went for Sat. lunch. Husband had the prime rib sandwich. Ordered it medium rare, and it looked and tasted liked well done pot roast.. I had the liver and onions. Large portion, but overcooked. Maybe it was just a bad day. Our waiter was very good, but not... More

I enjoyed eating at the Ranch I live about 75 miles away, I met up with a Lady friend for dinner. I had the Liver and onions with a green salad and a glass of wine, my date choose the Raviolis and a salad for dessert ice cream. I must say the food was delicious. They also offer steak Rib... More

We come here for all "sibling get-togethers" (four birthdays and Christmas, at least), never had a bad experience! It seems a little dark inside when you first come in, but they've got a nice dining room just beyond that sports bar (and if you like sports bars, they've got a nice, cozy one where you can get good food too).... Good food, reasonably priced, good and efficient service. Stopped here for a late dinner after reading other reviews on tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed: Jack Daniel's glazed steak (ordered med-rare, turned out to be a bit on the medium side, still juicy and very tasty, though) and Cobb Salad, both good sized portions.

The Ranch's long and colorful history began in 1948. The Ranch was built with the wood of a pilfered train trestle from near Sacramento. In the early years, Hayward's movers and shakers gathered at The Ranch because of its proximity to old City Hall. Local ranchers and farmers donated many of the antiques and memorabilia on display. We are now serving our third generation of happy diners at The Ranch.
