We had dinner and breakfast at Saltwater Oyster Depot in Inverness and both meals were terrific. The restaurant is small and somewhat bare with 2 rooms and an oyster bar, the menu is small, so is the wine list, but everything was done perfectly. We...More

Bummer that we're now vegetarian, it's almost worth changing our ways because their fish is so good, so well-prepared. Service is outstanding, restaurant tiny, make a reservation. I am not into the shellfish they have, but I hear it's good.

We had read good reports on Saltwater so decided to give it a try when we stayed overnight at Inverness a couple of weeks ago. It is a bit pricey to be sure but we don't mind that if the food is good and the...More

Saltwater has a good but somewhat limited menu. Food well prepared and fresh. Service fine. Menu prices are rather high and perhaps would have to be higher if management's desire to provide "healthcare" for employees were included in the menu prices. Rather, they add a...More

This restaurant is such a gem. The food was marvelous and although not inexpensive we felt it gave good value. The experience was made that much more pleasant by our server extraordinaire, Rachel, who gave helpful information with the nicest smile. Try the broiled oysters...More

Happily we had reserved our table here as it was a Saturday and the sun was shining which meant it was very busy. This is a lovely place with an outside deck, an oyster bar as well as a few tables. The oysters, broiled and...More

Good, solid presentation, but overpriced meal on a Thursday night with only Prix Fixe menu option. Scallops cooked well, but mashed potatoes and greens with spring peas underneath, just average.

This was the second time we visited in six months. Both times we enjoyed delightful food and friendly service. First time we came with someone who hates seafood and he was quite happy with the menu and loved the dishes he chose. For those of...More

We loved the oysters here. Try both the raw and broiled. We didn't plan to stop here but saw it on our way to the Point Reyes Lighthouse and decided to stop on the way back. Love the atmosphere. Small cozy place, laid back with...More

Yes, there were two options (one seafood, one other) each for the appetizer, main, and dessert. Highly recommend it!

Hello, Owner Luc responding to your inquiry. Pardon my tone if I came off as impatient. It was in no way intentional. We do encourage web reservations and we seldom run out of menu items. I'll adopt a more cheerful tone... More

Saltwater is a neighborhood oyster bar, restaurant and wine shop that is rooted in its respect for sustainably managed farmlands, shellfish producing water bottoms and folks that are engaged in the thoughtful gathering of food.
