Had a great meal here about 3 months ago, so made the trip back and was dissapointed. The server was a faux italian with a fake accent. The risotto was over cooked, the sausage polenta appetizer was greasy, the special pasta was only so so and the Nutella cheesecake was horrible. How unfortunate because our first experience here was awesome.... More

Good La Jolla spot outside the crowds of the the main village. Nice for a pleasant Italian summer dining experience outdoors on a patio. The Host was charming and obliging; the Wait Staff of true Italians gave a good feeling. When the food started coming the presentation was beautiful. The Bruschetta melted in your mouth, the salads 'Caprese with the... More

This little restaurant was the best place we dined while visiting the La Jolla and San Diego area for a long weekend. Our family of 5 split a number of appetizers, salads and entrees and everyone of us raved about how tremendous the food was. We haven't had Italian food that good since we were in Italy a couple years... More

Everything about this place was top notche! We the patio seating was cool and they had an Italian guitarist playing music and signing. The wine list was amazing and the food was even better. Very affordable as well!! 5 star food of 2-3 star prices. Truly gourmet at its best. The Maranera Sauce with the bread was to die for.

We stopped in randomly after a long neighborhood walk and got the last free table. The appetizer and pasta were homemade and ingredients of high quality. We lived the homemade mozzarella and carpaccio. Our waiter was rushed because there were some large tables seated for holiday parties, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. The only bust was dessert.... More

Two rooms for diners, almost everything made in house (breads, pastas) and fresh ingredients. Authentic Italian. We had pollo piccata, gnocchi, ravioli with rock shrimp and papardelle with lamb ragu and it was all superb. Good bread with dipping sauce also. Amazing that we had room for dessert and the tartuffe (chocolate ice cream stuffed with caramel and hazelnuts) and... More

The food was wonderful. Delicate cheese and spinach tortelloni in a to-die-for porcini cream sauce were spectacular and are worth the visit in and of themselves. Eggplant parmigiana appetizer was big enough for a main dish and the chicken piccata was seasoned perfectly. However, you must be patient because the service is slow and unwelcoming. There was no warm welcome... More

Our party of four was staying just up the street and happened on Lupi by accident. Everyone enjoyed their meals from the gnoche, ravioli, fat spaghetti to the risotto. Even the red wine was perfect. The red sauce is rich and loaded with flavor. Our waitress was excellent with the perfect amount of attention and service. The whole experience was... More

My husband and I came across Lupi by accident, and we're very glad we did! We were just walking along La Jolla Blvd, and there it was! The restaurant is lovely, and the outdoor dining is a charming experience. The food was delicious as well! I love little nieghborhood gems like this!
